Guest blogger Mary Alice Haney: "On our way to fashion week, my toddler screamed so loud the pilot came out and told us he would have to land the plane."
My toddler has started a new thing since the baby was born: Screaming at the top of his lungs when he doesn't get his way. Let me be clear: This is not a cry -- but a blood-curdling scream. It's the kind that hurts your ears and one usually only sees in bad horror movies. He was my perfect traveler until seven weeks ago. The flight is five and a half hours and he began his screaming one hour into it. The pilot came out and told us he would have to land the plane if we could not control him. This lasted the entire flight.
Our flight left Los Angeles around noon in order to try and hit my 18-month-old's nap window. Traveling with me were my husband, my new seven-week-old baby and my toddler. I was also lucky enough to bring our nanny. I was heading to New York for Fashion Week. Partly for work (I am a contributing editor for Marie Claire and Domino -- and of course momlogic!) and partly to see my family who are all now on the east coast.
