Larry Birkhead: 'Dannielynn Smacks Me'

Anna Nicole Smith's daughter turned two--and Larry Birkhead has some surprising things to say about her.

Dannielynn in US Magazine Cover

He spoke to Us magazine and had some surprising things to say...

  • When asked if Dannielynn reminds him of Anna Nicole, he said, "Especially when she smacks me and tells me, 'No!'--and I let her have her way just like I let her mom have her way."
  • What does he think Anna Nicole would say about him as a dad? "She'd say, 'Good job, dummy!'--sometimes she'd call me dummy and she would be happy."
  • He was asked about what's in his future and responded, "I've been approached to do a reality show. It wouldn't be too much of Dannielynn; it would focus on me."
  • His thoughts on dating: "I haven't found Halle Berry combined with Jessica Alba combined with Eva Mendes yet."
  • He's also "trying to start a business of things with Anna's image and likeness--like calendars and posters that Dannielynn could one day take over." He's working with Howard K. Stern on it!

He also makes some relatable parental statements such as he "hopes that his daughter is happy" and "being a single dad takes energy."

In your opinion, is Larry Birkhead just like any other father trying doing to do the best he can--or is he a media hound using his daughter to get attention?

A reality show and he and Stern are going to sell calendars and posters. Even the baby’s birthday is used to sell himself. CPS will soon be knocking at Larry’s door. He lives in the house bought with the blood, sweat and tears of Anna Nicole Smith.

I realize that Anna was so heartbroken over her beloved Daniel, but, this cutiepie needed her Mommy. How very sad, indeed.

The little girl would not have had a normal life even with her mother. She wasn’t anymore stable then Larry. And I’m sure Anna would have had her in makeup and making money off her too.

Larry is doing the best he could! Who are we to judge him! Just because he doesn’t raise her the way we think he should doesn’t mean that he’s doing it wrong. Everyone has there own way of parenting! When you do a photo shoot they will put make up on you regardless how old you are it’s to make certain features pop out. It’s a photo shoot! Have you been to one? We are no one to judge anyone everyone has flaws! This little girl is happy! Let her be it’s people like you who put all this gossip out there and make them look worse than what they really are. ARE YOU PERFECT?

I’m certainly not perfect, but, then again, I don’t sell each of my child’s experiences to the highest bidder…so I guess I’m better than Larry at least.

NOODLEMONKEY—You certainly are worse than Larry Birkhead. Before you criticize, take a good look at yourself!! You are every bit jealous of that man having a gorgeous little daughter. You have done nothing but badmouth both of them..what is your fricking problem!!!!! You have so much hate and ugliness in you!

TO LAURI, BELICOSO, and ANONYMOUS POSTERS—- What the hell is wrong with you people!! Why don’t you act your age and get a life! KNOCK IT OFF! It is none of your damn business how Larry is raising his child. He is doing an excellent job as a single father and Dannielynn is a very super happy child and that is what matters the most. We should be happy for her on her special birthday. You know what is wrong with you people is you are just plainly JEALOUS because you all can’t afford the birthday bash Larry has lavished on his only child!!! You are all mentally wacko and pathetic!

Hey Noodlemonkey, Lauri, and Belicoso Posters—Worry about your own kids than worry about Larry Birkhead. He’s doing an excellent job in raising his child. I saw Dannielynn on the Insider show and she is one mighty happy perky little girl who absolutely adores her daddy!!!!!

Dannielynn’s teeth aren’t chipped. It’s the photograph from the site. I had seen the same photo a few times and her teeth are fine. If you blow it up and take a closer look you will notice that it’s blacked.

Sorry, think I sent before I finished! Meant to say blacked out in 2 spots. As for the gossip. I don’t care for it. Dannielynn was doomed to live a life of fame and fortune and unhappiness. I think it’s important to et her live her childhood as much as she can because the moment she gets a bit older, it’ll be gone.

It isn’t like Dannielynn is in the spotlight every single day. What do you expect when her mother was a star? Of course we are going to want to see her, she is a part of her mother and she is gone. Larry was cheated out of the first part of his daughter’s life and now he is doing the best he can to protect her and to make sure she is aware of who she is. I am just glad that he turned out to be her father and that he has every right to be with her and share in the memory of Anna Nicole Smith. He was pushed away because he was concerned about Anna’s drug abuse and she didn’t want him to interfere with it. He is a good person and he will at least tell Dannielynn the good things about her mother.

I expect adults to act like adults and respect the child’s privacy and rights. Do you know Larry personally? Neither do I so I can’t judge him nor defend him.
