Gov. Sarah Palin's teen daughter pregnant: In breaking news today, the McCain campaign released a statement confirming that the 17-year-old daughter of VP pick, Sarah Palin, is 5-months pregnant. Campaign officials say Senator McCain was aware that Bristol, who's expected to marry the baby's father, was pregnant when he selected her mother as his running mate. Republican convention scaled back: Due to the approaching Hurricane Gustav, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain ordered that the events at the convention--set to start today--be scaled back. President Bush and Vice President Cheney, both of whom were scheduled to speak Monday night, have cancelled their appearances. McCain said he did not even know when he would arrive in St. Paul and left open the possibility of accepting his nomination via satellite from the Gulf Coast.
