Digna Carpio felt ill when she was working out a few months ago and was rushed to the hospital, where she learned she was pregnant. A few weeks later, she found out she was expecting six. Digna is only the second New York City mother and perhaps the first Hispanic woman to have sextuplets in known history.
Obama and McCain put aside politics on September 11: Presidential candidates Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain will stop trading jabs on the campaign trail this week when they put politics aside and make a joint appearance at Ground Zero to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. In a statement, the two candidates said, "All of us came together on 9/11--not as Democrats or Republicans--but as Americans...On Thursday, we will put aside politics and come together to renew that unity, to honor the memory of each and every American who died, and to grieve with the families and friends who lost loved ones."
Hanna soaks East Coast, Hurricane Ike moving towards the Gulf: Tropical storm Hanna soaked the East Coast yesterday, causing major flooding in New York and New Jersey, before moving up to New England today. Meanwhile, Hurricane Ike damaged 80% of the homes on Grand Turk island and was moving towards Cuba. The category 4 storm is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico early next week.
