Cindy McCain fires back at 'The View'

After her husband John McCain's appearance on the popular daytime talk show, "The View," Cindy McCain said: "In spite of what you see...in the newspapers, and on shows like 'The View' -- I don't know if any of you saw 'The View' yesterday, they picked our bones clean -- in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," During the interview, co-host Joy Behar told McCain two of his campaign ads are "untrue ... they're lies." And when McCain said he wanted to appoint Supreme Court justices who enforce the Constitution, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked: "Do I have to be worried about becoming a slave again?"

Ah Charles, Now we would’nt even have to worry about the budget if the typical republicans didn’t get us into this “recession” now would we!!!
What Joy Behar said IS the truth, hids ads ARE LIES, You should do some research before you defend the wrong.
If we have a f’ed up budget, Charles, it’s because of how the REPUBLICANS have destroyed it in the past 8 years!
Get a clue, nimrod.
I can’t believe how uppity the McCains are. They continue to play the victim game. I was proud of the women asking the questions I was wondering about. HE LIED and then lied again about his lie. The Republicans act like no one should be able to question either of their candidates! So much to deny and hide I guess.
Personally, I’m saddened that Barbara Walters is undermining her legitimacy as a journalist by her rude and obnoxious partisan behavior. While McCain gets grilled with in appropriate questions—(she can’t even look him in the eye)—she tells Obama that he’s sexy!! C’mon Barbara—be a fair and balanced journalist—don’t spoon-feed your viewers your political views or else people who can’t think for themselves are going to go to the polls in November armed with only one-side of the story! Irresponsible and juvenile! I won’t be watching this tabloid trash television show any more.
I am so done with all of the lies in McCain’s ads and his hypocritical pandering. I can’t believe he is even allowed to continue showing some of those ads especially when non-partisan fact checkers have proven that they are not accurate. Does he think we are stupid? Someone in the media needs to start questioning his behavior. Isn’t it a bit of a red flag that whenever McCain or Palin get asked tough and serious questions that they cry foul or sexism?
I think it’s only fair that these “lies” be spelled out.
1) The lipstick on a pig comment “lie”—-it was irresponsible of Obama. Watch the clip closely,..after Obama says “You can put lipstick on a pig” he pauses and the audience is already laughing and clapping. The interpretation (whether he meant it or not) was that he was referring to Palin. It’s very clear that the people in attendance took it that way.
2) The teaching sex-ed to kindergartners “lie” The actual focus of the legislation was to expand sex-ed from 6th-12 grade to beginning at kindergarten. The way the bill was written it aimed to teach age appropriate sex-ed beginning in kindergarten including the prevention of STDs and HIV. A very SMALL part of the bill mentioned the bit about sexual predators. So this story is being spun out of control by both sides,..like many things these days.
I think it’s a red flag that the media asks tough questions of ONLY McCain or Palin. Much like what they were doing to Hillary vs. Obama during the primary.
Obama gets softball after softball while McCain and Palin are viciously attacked.
Americans are being spoon-fed politics by the left-leaning media everywhere they turn—-tv, magazines, etc.
Please try to learn both sides of the story and make up your minds for yourselves.
Philadelphia,
The reason for the tough questions to McCain and Palin is that most of what they say are lies. We don’t need anyone to identify the lies for us as they are blatant. When Palin was questioned by Charlie Gibson about the “Bridge to Nowhere” she admitted that she lied. She stated that it was not inappropriate for a mayor or governor to work with members of the Congress to obtain federal money for infrastructure projects. This was after she had repeatedly said that she told Congress “thanks but no thanks”! To summarize, Palin lied, then she admitted that she lied, and then she continued to use the same lie during a campaign stop the day after the Gibson interview!
I don’t want to take up too much space explaining the “Lipstick on a Pig” comment but if you read Jake Tapper’s (ABC News) story “A Piggish Debate” you may understand that Obama was not attacking Palin with this remark.
Speaking of wasting his supporters money, McCain using hard earned money (ok, well, if it was his wife’s money it wasn’t hard earned) to pay for an ad that claims that Barack wants sex education to be taught to kindergarten students?! PLEASE use the brain that the good Lord gave you (no offense intended to atheists and/or agnostics)! It’s just ridiculous! Even Karl Rove thought McCain had gone too far.
I don’t think Barbara Walters was being rude to McCain. She was simply asking questions. It’s always uncomfortable when one is called out on a lie.
I have seen the press ask Obama tough questions. Maybe you aren’t listening to the real issues when they are discussed. Pay attention, do some of your own research to find the truth. You surely aren’t getting it from McCain or Palin.
Look at the two candidates’ tax policies. CNN has them side by side. Look to see why Obama isn’t rushing to “drill baby drill”. There are legitimate reasons for not doing this. However he is willing to consider offshore drilling under certain circumstances. Look to see why Obama wants to withdraw from Iraq within a year’s time. Pay attention to the details and you too will see the truth!
Pennsylvania is a swing state. I have been going door to door to register voters. I also answer questions that people ask. It’s rewarding to hear that many people are realizing that they will be better off if PA goes BLUE!!
Did anyone actually watch the interview with the Mc Cains and then watch the Obama interview. They called mc cains ads a lie and worried about slavery. But when obama came on I think they all had wet panties. Why don’t they ask obama about why he received 126G from the defunct co’s of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac? He is the second highest man on the list to receive the money in 3 yrs. Has he answered any questions straight forward? Or why is the woman that is his financial chair the same woman that collapsed Security bank in Chicago.Or why is one of his friends that served on a board with him for 5 years, the same person that bombed our pentagon.or why is the other 2 people on fannie mae’s list all working for obama now?
Thank you Barb! All excellent questions.
And as far as “Lies” go—
What about Obama’s biggest lie of all:
“I voted No to go to war with Iraq.” He has said this at least a hundred times.
The TRUTH is he did NOT vote at all because he was NOT in the Senate yet!! Why didn’t the women of The View ask him this? He can say whatever he wants to now because he didn’t actually have to take a stand when it counted—Without being a member of the Senate he was not privy to all of the information given,…so who knows how we would have voted. We do know that his running mate, Biden did vote for the war.
The only thing Obama has actually voted “No” for was the SURGE. And that is what is working!! McCain was willing to put his entire political career on the line in support of the surge. He said that he’d rather lose an election than see his country lose a war. So he stood fast in his support of the surge even when it was unpopular.
Obama wants to pull out immediately and create a humanitarian crisis—like the war or not (and nobody does), we can’t simply abandon the country as it is now. Especially not when the surge is clearly working!
Perhaps ask Obama about his dear family friend Jeremiah Wright. He went to this whack job’s church for 20 years!! Rev. Wright performed the marriage ceremony for Obama and Michelle—he baptized their children! Obama NEVER KNEW that he hated America?!!? That he was insane?? In all that time??!! I don’t believe it. And how about the lie that he was going to have a “different kind of campaign”? He has been running ads hurling awful name-calling and insults at McCain. Is this the ‘different kind’ he was referring to? Oh yeah, and I personally loved the ads he was running where he claimed that he would not accept funding from oil companies, and he criticizes Exxon. Well the TRUTH is that he has received over $160,000 from oil companies including Exxon! And two oil-company chief executives have acted as Obama fundraisers! Why didn’t the lovely ladies of The View ask him about this?
And J. Early I do “understand” what Obama meant,…perhaps you should re-read my post. I do stand by my comment though that his remark was irresponsible. It was taken in a different way—-and perception is reality.
And I have looked at the two tax policies side-by-side.
Obama is lying on this one too—“95% of middle class America will get a tax break”
First of all—the top 5% of our country cannot (and should not) support the bottom 95%. Second of all,…do you honestly think that this is going to help our country??? Or do you have a rudimentary understanding of economics and realize that when you raise taxes on anyone or anything making more than $250,000/yr, prices are going to up for EVERYONE! Haircuts, food, gas, Wal-mart, coffee shops, bookstores,..everywhere we turn we will be paying more b/c businesses will be struggling under a larger tax burden. And you can forget about small business growth,…you know, the industry that creates new jobs? As a small business owner myself I am seriously worried about my family should Obama become president. We are very much “middle-class” but because my small business might gross over $250,000 one year I will be slammed with additional taxes that will hinder my ability to grow.
I think you should take your own advice about seeing the the TRUTH. Obama has the wool pulled over so many eyes in this country b/c he is ‘fresh and new’ and an amazing speaker. And b/c he’s young and Hollywood and the media love him. People who can’t think for themselves watch him being praised on the view and by David Letterman and Oprah and Lindsay Lohan and they gush.
J. Earl,..where are you going door-to-door?
Because you’ve inspired me to do the same.
I think people deserve to hear a balanced view.
As a well-educated Democrat myself, a free-thinker, a moderate, a centrist,…I wouldn’t mind answering people’s questions with TRUTHFUL, un-spun answers.
And you’re right—PA is a crucial swing-state. I’m going to look into this today!
One more thing…then I must get back to work.
For me the most compelling reason to vote for McCain is the exact same tagline that Obama’s Campaign uses to attack McCain–that he has a 90% voting record with Bush.
First—as president,..Bush does NOT vote!
Second, this means that for 1 out of 10 votes–McCain voted AGAINST his party. Many people in his party HATE him. As a Republican Senator, he is expected to vote with his party 100% of the time (check the voting records of other Republican Senators). But McCain doesn’t. Why? Because he takes the time to do his job. He does his research and considers issues and votes for what he believes in regardless of the stance of his party. McCain’s goal is actually to solve a problem,…not tow the party line.
Obama?? He has voted with his party 100% of the time. Never once has he challenged the party line.
In fact,..he opted to vote “Present” an absurd number of times and not even take a stance on controversial issues as a state Senator.
He doesn’t want to ‘rock the boat.” How can we as a country make true progress with someone like this at the helm?
We need someone willing to put our country’s interests ahead of their partisanship —

Typical Democrats. Let’s talk about slaves, when we can’t even balance our budget and the Judicial branch thinks it should be the Legislative branch.
