Group Boycotts Oprah for Palin Diss

 

This is America folks, not a dictatorship yet. Oprah has a right to say who she wants on her progam. A wise man once said only a free man can vote himself(or herself) into slavery. Do you really want the GOP to tell you who you can and cannot be on the shows you watch? Way to go Oprah! Stand up for our freedoms.

Oprah has gotten to big for her pants. I hope everyone will Boycott her in every way. Gov. Palin is one great lady and Oprah could learn a lot from her. She will interview Obama Hussein but not Gov Palin - guess she is afraid that Palin would run away with the show and SHE WOULD. Or is it a racist problem with Oprah!! Again, Palin is like a second Regan in many ways and would be ideal for our country with our wonderful McCain. I pray to God that it will be PRESIDENT McCAIN AND VICE PRESIDENT SARAHG PALIN…….

“Oprah’s gotten too big for her pants?” Who are YOU to judge her success? It’s pretty funny how racist idiots like you keep flapping your tongues,shredding Oprah’s character and call her names all because SHE’S MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN YOU. How quickly people like YOU FORGET: Oprah’s outdone many other wealthy people when it comes to using her success to HELP OTHERS. If you want people who are “too big” for their pants…why don’t you look at the miserly rich like the Waltons or better yet, people like Trump-happy Donald Trump who’s got enough ego to hopefully shut your mouth up for a decade, at least.

Oprah said from the begining she wouldn’t have presidential candidates on her show and being that she’s not a journalist she’s entitled to that. Furthermore her show was one of the places Obama originally planned on making his announcement, but was told if he did then the episode would never see the light of day. Notice too that she has NOT had on Clinton even though she bowed out of the race because she’s campaigning for Obama.

Dr. Wayne T Moses, First of all you spelled President Reagan incorrectly and 2nd of all maybe you should do some research on what you are saying and then maybe people would take you more seriously. I think Oprah is an amazing woman who is a role model for our children. Thank you Oprah for all you do in this country and all over the world.

It could back fire on her in that all the huff about it could drive people in another direction, but it is her show. Right or wrong she can do what ever she wants on her show and any organization can boycott that show and subject matter or another show if they want to.

First I want to correct Dr. Wayne T.. He should have said “too big” instead of “to big”. I think Oprah should interview Sarah Palin; however Mrs. Palin should be open to answering, without script, all questions from Oprah and the audience.

I think that Oprah has contradicted herself a little… she said that she doesn’t want to use her show as a “platform” for any of the candidates, which I would applaud normally, but she’s already had Obama grace her set and she’s endorsed him. This is America; we have the priviledge of living in a democracy and have the freedom to make our own choices and support/endorse the candidate that we feel will best represent the needs of the American people. I feel it would be counter-productive for Palin to appear on Oprah when it is obvious that Ms Winfrey does not support her. You want Palin interviewed? By one of Barack’s most powerful campaigners? Oprah already has the heart of half the nation, I’d rather she didn’t talk to or about Palin rather than present her in a negative light to the American population. Let’s vote based on platforms, not celebrity endorsements.

Please, its simple, Oprah is for Barack. She had him on twice, appeared at at least one rally with him and held a fund raiser for him. She won’t do anything that might work against him…and with Palin so popular now, well, do the math. Sure its her show and she has a right to book whomever she pleases. We also have a right not to watch. I’d respect her more if she just told the truth and didn’t try to hide behind platitudes.

I don’t care who Oprah does or doesn’t have on her show, but I don’t think she’s quite the role model everyone makes her out to be. It’s more like a cult…Oprah recommends a book, everyone reads it; Oprah endorses a candidate, everyone supports him/her. I think she needs to stay out of politics altogether, as should all of the other celebrities. I think they can ultimately be detrimental to a candidate’s campaign by downplaying the importance of the actual issues at hand.

Dr. Wayne T. Moses, How can you sit there with a straight face and say that Ronald Reagan was a great leader? Palin is a second Reagan? I guess that may be true, he emphasized family values yet he was the first president to have been divorced. Palin is like a bad episode of Jerry Springer, with her pregnant teen daughter. What values did she teach that girl? Last I checked, she was not an 80 year old guy with alzheimers. Reagan was a snitch during his Hollywood years, and regularly provided the FBI with information on Communists, real, imagined and manufactured. McCain will be 80 after his second term. Do we want another senile old man running the country. Look what Reagan got us; Reagan’s response to the 1981-1982 recession, the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, was to declare ketchup a vegetable, release federal cheese surpluses, and shackle the strike leaders of the air traffic control union hand and foot and lead them off to jail. My most pronounced memories of the Reagan years are the three hour cheese line and the German care packages to unemployed workers in Detroit. In the first two years of the Reagan administration, his policy was a forced economic recession and de- industrialization of the United Stated. He cut federal low income housing funds by 84%; his tax cuts for the rich, his “trickle-on” the poor and working class economics ended up tripling all previously existing U.S. government debt. So, when I think of the Reagan legacy, I think of urban decay, crack, homelessness, racism, rampant corporatism and the destruction of the American dream.

Oprah hasn’t had ANY of the candidates on her show. The last time Obama was on was Oct 2006, before he was even a candidate. Obama’s VP hasn’t even been on, so why should McCain’s? If they’re trying to force Oprah to have Palin on, then Palin should be forced to go on all the shows that want her on. The View has been asking Palin to come on. MSNBC’s Chris Mathews wants her on. She hasn’t even been on Meet the Press. Palin needs to explain why the republicans oppose health care and unions for working women. Explain why she wants to ban abortion even in cases of rape and incest. Explain why the republicans want to give tax breaks for the rich, unlike Obama who’d provide tax relief for 95% of Americans and would only raise taxes on the rich.

I don’t understand. Why were people not boycotting when McCain was not on the show. After all, he is the Prez runner (not VP) and the actual rival for Obama. Why did it start with Palin? .. Oh.. she’s your candidate of your gender. Bias? Look in the mirror please.

Oprah has the right to not have Sarah Palin on the show. I mean really, who wants to discuss women’s rights and responsibilities with a woman, especially when you’re choice of candidate is a Muslim? She also gets the benefit of being in a free country where she gets to deal with the backlash of her actions. Personal responsibility, what a concept.

To those of you who don’t think Oprah is racist you need to think again! I was a fan of Oprah but in the last few years she has become increasingly openly racist towards white people. You can see it in the way she is so emotionally moved when black people are on her show and she holds their hands or hugs them and leans in towards them when they tell difficult or uplifting stories, but, when white people are on the show she leans away from them, shows little or no emotion and rarely hugs a white person or holds their hands. And when she does occasionally show emotion towards a white person it is only for those who support black charities and even then it is forced! Needless to say.. I no longer watch the show.
