Continued...Palin: Do Politics & Motherhood Go Hand In Hand?

Is she saying it is okay for young unwed girls to have sex? Is she saying 16 is an acceptable age of consent? Or, is she supporting a daughter who made a mistake?

Palin governs in a state where it is okay for Bristol to have consented to having sex at the age of 16. In Alaska, it is only considered statutory rape if the age difference of the parties is more than three years (so a 17-year-old male who has sex with a 15-year-old girl in Alaska is on safe ground). In other states in our great Union, which Palin hopes to be VP of, Levi could have been in a holding cell meeting his new boyfriend Bubba instead of rubbing up to John McCain on Wednesday night. Would she have pressed charges if the laws of her state were different? If Bristol was 14? Do the statutory rape laws effectively help us protect our daughters--and what should I tell my 11-year-old I would do?

I could care less about the politics, I hated to see the kids (Trig, for one, and McCain’s teenage daughter) pimped out like that. Like how she emphasized that NOW, parents of special needs kids will have the advocacy they need. Why wouldn’t they have that regardless? Would she feel the same way if she didn’t have a SN baby? Or how the McCains talked about how in touch with the poor they are because they adopted a Bangladeshi. That’s admirable. Its wonderful, but why pigeonhole her like that? Our “black friend”, our “adopted daughter”. Stop using your children as politicized agents. Its tasteless.

Obama did the same thing. He paraded his two daughter on tv. So, what the difference? As a sister of a down syndrome I highly admire Palin for stepping out with her son. She could just keep him home and not let anyone in on the fact that her son is special needs. You can argue both sides. As far as her 17 year old daughter. You have to understand that things are just different when you come from a smaller community. Also, Palin herself married her high school sweetheart. It is all in what kinda of life style you are from and how your perceive things. We have perceive life from what our reality is. But, we don’t think that that may not be someone else’s reality. Just all in different perspectives.

Seriously, can there be any more posts against Palin? Oh no, this site isn’t biased at ALL! Oh wait, I forgot, it’s like that with all the ‘celebrities’ too.

I would just like to say her daughter s not the first to do this and we all know it won’t be the last either. I think it is great to have with Mccain. I think that she will do a great justice for us and I supporther 100%. We raise our kids to right but they always don’t follow what we say have to put our trust intoour crildren that the do right. Unless your God and ave a 100% perfect child which who oes they stay quiet. Nobody is perfect in this world we have to accept ths and make changes for the better. In the end maybe her daughter could help tell others not to have a child so young maybe teens will listen to her. Give her chance.

Well, Pissed, when you or your kid or your grandkids have a Down syndrome child or end up being the surrogate mother or father to their Down syndrome sibling, like I am, you will understand EXACTLY why we need SORELY need advocacy at all and especially the highest levels. Moralistic, hypocritical, ultra-extremist creeps (and caucus-rigging thugs) have taken over my party, leaving me no choice but to have reregistered as a nonpartisan. You’ve all turned into Rovian Republicans. The more you castigate Gov. Palin for things that are none of your business, the more you convince the Hillary write-in vote to pull the lever for McCain. Thanks! The only chore left for me to do this morning is unsubscribe from this superficial online rag and to be sure to boycott all their advertisers.

I believe all proud Americans of substance & commitment, especially women of equal attributes, should REJOICE in this opportunity for our country. We finally have two political leaders who will truly put the people & our country first, as they have in the past. Nothing could be better for us! America is about opportunity, & true grit & commitment to be the best we can be, together. Stand up & fight to be all you can be with your freedom of these United States of America! Sure, use government programs when you must, as there are plenty of them. But, never give in to being a product of these governemnt programs. You will then, truly be, a proud American, & a very happy person. I’m voting McCain / Palin, & I’m a proud American!

I have one thing to say. I agree with Obama in the fact it is not about her family. Leave her family out of it. Focus on the issues that is what we are really here for! So come on what about her views. Like she supports the barbaric practice of aerial hunting. She even awards people for this practice. Do we want a woman who opposes a woman’s right to choose. A woman who opposes gay marriage. If a woman would have had my vote she would have had to have been open minded strong and really focused on issues like our economy. (Much like Hillary). Not Palin who so far has done not much more than cutting down Obama. I don’t care how you feel about your opponent lets here how you are gonna fix our problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
