Here's how you can help.

Lori Hall Steele, a 44-year-old single mom and freelance writer, was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease and chronic Lyme disease last year. She's got $50,000 in medical bills, and now her bank is threatening to foreclose on her mortgage within days. She's currently confined to a hospital bed and hooked up to a breathing machine, so she's unable to work.

A group of mom bloggers and writers are trying to save Lori's house so her 7-year-old son Jack will always have a roof over his head. To hear more or contribute to this great cause, click here.

I’m truly inspired by the generosity of the blogosphere and the writing community. I’m hopeful that the money raised will keep Lori’s house and family safe so she can focus on her health.
