Read this before you lend a pal birth control.
Has a friend ever forgotten her birth control pill and snagged one from you? Or maybe you've borrowed pain medicine for an aching back? Sure, it all sounds harmless to occasionally mooch meds, but this is a very dangerous--and potentially fatal--habit.
A survey of nearly 7,500 women published in the Journal of Women's Health found sharing meds among friends is a common practice among more than one-third of the population.
Women of reproductive age (18-44 years) are also more likely to share or borrow medication than older women. The overall survey of more than 25,000 women and men found 28.8 percent of women and 26.5 percent of men borrow or share prescription medications.

I find this so upsetting. We are the most medicated country in the world, with methadone being the most perscribed pain killer by docs for the last ten years!!!!!!!!! (yahoo news, health). I’ve been on methadone and let me just tell you, it took me YEARS to get my body back to “normal”. Kicking opium would of lasted maybe two weeks. (I’m talking about the physical effects) And yes, I said the methadone took years. It’s a synthetic. Look, there’s a great book called, The Shaman’s Apprentice: Lessons of the Rainforest…..it’s a children’s book, but at this stage it should be mandatory MOM reading. ( I try to give it to people when they have a baby, but no one’s “got” it yet…just another book.) Just check it out and go from there. And for godsakes, get off the synthetic drugs, legal or non.
