Teens on Palin

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Bristol Palin's pregnancy is THE topic of conversation everywhere--but how your teens feel about it may truly shock you.

Everybody's been talking about Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy, but how do teens view this issue? How do they feel about Bristol and "baby daddy" Levi Johnston's pregnancy--and the fact that kids are having sex (and babies) younger and younger and just not fessing up about it? This clip will bring some surprising insights about how they really feel--and what parents are and are not doing to prevent the Juno effect.

I am a parent and I was a teenager. There is only so much a parent can teach his/her own child before that child begins making decisions on their own. A child is a reflection of its parent to a point. But the time comes when a child makes decision based on morality contived from pop culture influences, friends, lack of education, too much education. I think that Palin accepting the nomination doesn’t make her a bad parent - maybe it makes her a better parent??? Think about how Bristol would have felt if her mom turned down the opportunity b/c of her pregnancy. Bristol would feel as if she embarassed her mother/family.

Foxy Momma, she (Bristol) did embarass her mother/family. The damage was done, and they took a risk trying to dodge the consquences, when they knew the media was going to tear them apart. To know something is wrong and do it anyway, shows lack of maturity and lack of respect for yourself. It’s hard to preach to the choir when what you are preaching isn’t being implemented at home….you know what I mean?
