Did you know the size and weight of your infant can predict her chances of getting breast cancer?

This just in: Women who were bigger and longer babies may be more likely to develop breast cancer, according to the results of a new study published in the Public Library of Science journal, "PLoS Medicine."
Researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine examined 32 studies of 600,000 women, as well as more than 22,000 women with breast cancer.
After considering risk factors like age and late menopause, they found a strong association with birth size, birth length and head circumference. Of the three, birth length showed the strongest link.
The link between breast cancer and birth size appeared smaller when compared with other risk factors. Researchers estimate that birth size may account for up to 5% of women who develop breast cancer by the age of 80.
