The Olsens have made the leap from child stars to tween queens to fashion dream team. Their new couture line, Elizabeth and James, once again reaffirms the twins' icon status.
As if they haven't accomplished enough (books, movies, television shows, a line for Wal-Mart, a beauty line, dolls created after them, CEO, merchandising moguls), MK and Ashley Olsen, after being touted as fashion icons for their bohemian bourgeois style, are now the newest IT designers on the fashion block. But here's the dilemna: The new line, Elizabeth and James (named after their brother and sister), is a contemporary sportswear line the twins say is created for "the woman who wants a designer outfit but can't afford it." Umm...we think you two are totally amazing in all of your accomplishments, but we simply cannot conceive of spending $600 on a pair of motorcycle-inspired pants. We suppose it's the residue of being twice appointed to the "Forbes Celeb 100 list" and being worth over $100 million, but still--can ya make something for the girls who are really looking up to you that they (or we...their moms) could afford? Does being chic really have to come at such a high price? (A flannel shirt is $225!)
