We thought pin thin actresses were a thing of the past -- until we saw what our kids were watching!
The stars on the new "90210" are shockingly skinny. Our kids are exposed to images of super skinny celebs on a daily basis. How does this really affect them, and what can we do as parents to make sure this doesn't damage our kids?
Remember when we thought the original cast of "Beverly Hills, 90210" was thin? Fast forward 18 years later: Brenda and Kelly look almost buxom next to the new stars. Kids and teens are bombarded with pics images of celebrities who are skinnier than ever before. US Weekly is reporting that the lead actresses on "90210" rarely eat, and there is even an intervention planned for the skinny starlets.
Momlogic spoke to tweens and teens in New York and Los Angeles to find out how they really feel about thin Hollywood. Here's what we discovered ...
UGH - eat something. But, it’s not their faults. The pressure for young girls to be thin is so prevelant. I feel sorry for them.

don’t worry about 90210 did anyone see Susan Lucci on DWTS last night. I did for like 30 seconds she’s way too thin!

The girl in the black dress in the new 90210 was on a Canadian show (Degrassi the next generation) and she wasn’t that thin! Which is really sad because she looked good.

It’s really sad that these girls just can’t be girls. Our society tends to push girls to ‘grow up’ too soon. We need to change the way we think about what is REAL beauty. Size 12 or size 14 is just as if not more beautiful because they will look healthy.

I just watched the video and I am about to cry! OMGoodness, this girl — who might be 19?? — her mother has had her on a diet to go from a size 7 to a ZERO? That is abolute child abuse to me! What is the matter with you lady? Our kids need healthy self-images, which means ALL shapes and sizes. I’m not talking unhealthy here, but we all naturally have different body chemistries. I am so glad my oldest daughter is only 8 and isn’t interested in the show…….. Any mother pushing their kids to anorexia thin needs to see a shrink! UGHHHHHHH!!! Quit trying to live through your kids!

TAlk to any Teens you know. I tell them to accept themselves the way they are. Everyone goes thru different stages of weight during their lives! Boys worry about this issue too. The girls on tv deal with that pressure all the time. But that’s Hollywood, I suppose. Teach kids to love themselves and get good advice from adults.

The new 90210 show will never be as good as the original.
