Volunteered to be team mother but didn't know what it meant? Here are some great tips.
Guest blogger Vicky thought that -- as a working mom -- she'd never be able to handle being her child's team mother. She finally figured out how to do it and now wants to share her shortcuts:
Responsibilities:
Post-game and halftime snacks: Assign each family a game date and print out a snack schedule.
Keeping score: Ask for volunteers to help you.
Game schedules: You can print them out in wallet-size form for parents.
Coach's gift: You have to collect money from the parents for this at the end of the season. Remember to keep a list of who gave.
Plan a trophy party: It doesn't have to be at your home. (Phew!) Look into local pizza places or even the park where you play.
Short Cuts:
Use technology: Email and texting saves you from calling each parent one by one.
Just in case: Keep an emergency snack kit in your car in case the parent forgets to bring the snack on their week. Or check out our easy solutions for a soccer mom in a snack crunch.
