Toddler dies after mother leaves him with gun

A boy fatally shot himself moments after his mother told him not to touch his father's gun. Rebecca Matteau told her two-year-old son that the gun would cause "bad boo boos," and then ridiculously left the gun in the room with the child. The poor boy took the gun from the nightstand while his mother was in the bathroom and shot himself through the eye. Connecticut police charged both parents with risk of injury to a minor and criminally negligent storage of a firearm.

Why would you tell your 2-year-old about the gun in the first place? If you tell them not to, more than likely they will.
