Continued from Trailblazer or Bad Mother? You Decide!

sarah_bristol_270.jpg
Mom to One says: "Kate -- what exactly gives you the ultimate authority to say who is wrong and who is right? What gives you the right to say someone is making a stupid choice? How about if you don't waste your vote on someone who believes late term and partial birth abortions are okay? You're wasting your vote on a socialist who doesn't even believe babies are human beings who deserve basic human rights! You're wasting your vote on someone who isn't even proud to live in the country. As a Marine wife, that's insulting to Americans!"

MomCK1 says: "Too many people have become judge and jury and don't care about the rights of the families and their privacy. So what if Sarah Palin's DAUGHTER is pregnant. Sarah Palin has proven she can run a state and take care of her family. Teen pregnancy is widespread and nothing new. So why exploit an innocent child? Move on to the real issues...1) The war 2) The economy 3) Education 4) Healthcare."

Jezzie says: "As a conservative woman (on family issues), I'm looking at what takes priority in Sarah Palin's life. For all her religious, right-wing rhetoric, she has made interesting choices, in my opinion. Not that a woman cannot have it all - she can - but in certain times, family takes priority. I believe family takes priority when a mother has an 18-year-old serving in Iraq, a pregnant 17 yr. old and a 4 month old baby, w/or w/out special needs - not to mention the 5 and 12 year olds. It is not the time for Ms. Palin to take on one of the biggest responsibilities in the free world, and at the same time, present herself as a social conservative.  I want Sarah Palin to put her family first and graciously decline this honor in exchange for the honor of being there for her children."

Momlogic talked to two moms who have very different opinions on this issue. Go to PAGE THREE to find out why one mom thinks Sarah would kick some serious ass in the White House.

I am sorry but why is this an issue for her? Barrack and Michelle have TWO kids. They are 7 and 9? Something like that? Michelle just recently quit her job but is rarely at home. She is out campaigning. Is it fair to their kids that their father take on such a demanding job? No one has brought their kids into the limelight as an issue. Why is that?

Why? I’ll tell you. Because Obama isn’t out there saying he can help stop teenage pregnancy WHEN HE HAS A PREGNANT TEENAGE DAUGHTER. Everyone keeps saying that we shouldn’t talk about the daughter. But that’s EXACTLY what she’s pushing. She says abstinence only education is the best way to stop teenage pregnancy. Well, did it work? Nope. Sure didn’t. It’s hypocrisy. Plain, simple, hypocrisy.

Oh that is right..what is Obama saying he can do? Change. Change what? We don’t know. Change how? Who knows? At least she stands for something!

Change has been identified. Require higher gas economy of our cars sold in US. Catch BIN LAUDIN. Convert away from oil economy. Transform education system. Rebuild bridges. End taxation on social security retired people. new techno-infrastructure for communications, including internet in more schools. End discrimination against minorities, including gay, lesbian and trans gendered people. roll back the Bush tax refund to multi-millionaires to pay off debt incurred by war on Iraq. Allow research on stem cells. The author who pretends not to know what changes Obama promises has her ears closed.

she is worse than W on environment: Palin opposes the Bush administration’s decision to list polar bears as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. Palin argues there isn’t enough evidence to support a listing, and she fears it will harm oil and gas development in prime polar bear habitat off Alaska’s northern and northwestern coasts.

History repeats itself. For those of you who had moms who worked FT and you were put in daycare, don’t you get it? Many of you are now what is known as “off-ramping” and taking time out from your jobs by choice (those who can) to stay home with the kids, who need you. Having come of age in the early ’70s, we as women thought we can have it all. But we learned we can’t ~ not while the kids needed us. We had guilt feelings leaving the kids. We still do. Corporate American didn’t make it easy for us then, and doesn’t now. Flex time? Not quite. Maternity leave? Not really, and some companies not at all. And many of us were not even close to having such a high-powered, visible position of authority. I will not be patronized by this female, who apparently doesn’t give a hoot, and continues to farm out the kiddos for the sake of the limelight. Qualified? I think not. Egotistical? Absolutely. I hope there’s plenty of monies in the budget for counseling care, because when all is said and done, I have a feeling that some familiy members might need it. Those of you who’s moms or aunts are still alive ~ talk to them. Stop fooling yourselves and having the wool pulled over your eyes.

Alison, having a child who does not possess the same values, ideals, etc as you, does not constitue hypocrisy. Palin is not a hypocrite for believing in abstinence just because her daughter does not. Hypocrisy is the liberals pushing for equal rights and equality and all that jazz for women and then saying a woman is a poor mother for running for an elected office and her place is at home. hy·poc·ri·sy Audio Help /hɪˈpɒkrəsi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hi-pok-ruh-see] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun, plural -sies. 1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess hyp·o·crite Audio Help /ˈhɪpəkrɪt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hip-uh-krit] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. 2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

I am worried that the woman is still being held to different standards than the men at the same level. You people first have to realize that she did not get her daughter pregnant. She did not want her daughter to get pregnant. and I am sure that she did not tell her daughter to get pregnant. If you have ever known a teen mother, you would realize that even they don’t always make a conscious decision to become pregnant, (they are not thinking about the consequences.) I also do not think that persecuting Palin for working is a good idea either. I have worked most of my kids lives, and would have gone back to work in 3 days if the job needed me too. I do love my kids, and am still there for them, Could I run the country? no, but that is not a reason to discount her. For a woman to succeed in a mans world, she must be stronger than others, be capable of more, and do more. Most importantly, figure out the issues that really matter.

I think she got it “spot on” last night in her speech. The dems are nursing 2 black eyes as far as I am concerned. All I’ve heard is hope and change from Obama. SPELL IT OUT: What hope and What change? How is he going to do whatever he wants to do? Why go to a foreign country to campaign when they can’t vote in our election???? No, Palin may not have foreign policy experience, but Obama does not either, and has not had experience being either mayor or a governor of a state. Palin is at least 2 up on Obama. Obama says “He WILL, HE CAN”, but no matter who is President/VP in the White House isn’t going to matter because what counts is what Congress passes or rejects. So I look at our local congressmen and women and Senators and see how they voted for whatever issue and if I don’t like it, I vote them out. That’s what most people don’t get; that it’s not the President’s fault 99% of the time, it is CONGRESS’ fault that a bill didn’t pass or that a bill was rejected. If people don’t think she would be a good mother AND be the VP at the same time doesn’t have the guts or the strength to do that themselves. And I heard a comment on Rush Limbaugh yesterday when a caller said that Palin should be a good mother and make her daughter go have an abortion. GOOD MOTHER and ABORTION is an abomination in the same sentence! God made us to reproduce and God made our bodies so where do we have the right to KILL an unborn child whose HEART is BEATING? I PITY THE PERSON WHO IS SO SELFISH THAT THEY CAN’T LOOK TO GIVING THE CHILD UP FOR ADOPTION AS AN ALTERNATIVE!

As I recall, it takes two to create a child. Mrs. Palin is married. Who says she has to stay home to raise their children? I’m certain Mr. Palin can do a wonderful job raising their children, he certainly has a broad skill set! I don’t understand women’s prejudice that make many women believe that breats and a vagina make you more qualified to parent a child than a man. I especially question those women who are hyper-critical of women who don’t live, parent, etc. exactly as they do. How about the many women who are “stay at home” moms who have nannies, babysitters, pre-school at 12 months or two, house cleaners, gardeners, etc. so they can spend the day with their friends complaining about the other women who, God forbid, work or do their own household chores? How about the mom who is getting her college degree or MBA and being a “FT mom?” Is she a bad mother for investing so much time to attend school? Let’s consider how many women really aren’t great parents. Having a baby doesn’t by extension make you a naturally good parent. I know many men who are far better with their children than their wives are. I’m guessing you do too. How many of you had full time, stay at home mom’s who still had one or more children not turn out perfect??? I for one. My 45 year old brother still acts like a 14 year old. Nobody could have done more or tried harder than my parents. Parents can’t be blamed for all of their children’s actions. Each person has free will and independence of thought. Let’s all learn more about ALL of the candidates and not rush to judgement with a knee jerk reaction. I would no more vote for someone because they were a woman than I would vote for someone because they were a certain race. What is certain is that whichever party is sworn in next will go down in history as being historic.

1. We have the right to bear arms according to The Constitution. Obama doesn’t think so. 2. Bristol Palin got pregnant and the dems think that is a horrible situation. FOR WHOM? A child is a GIFT, do you hear that all you selfish, murderous abortionists??? She and her boyfriend are getting married and they both look pretty happy to me. And Bristol is NOT the one running for VP! 3. Palin turned her state around financially. Can Obama say THAT? No, he has been neither Mayor or Governor of ANYTHING. 4. Has ANYONE other than myself DUG down and researched Obama’s track record as a Senator? Probably not; most people are sheep and believe whatever is told to them. Like, we are sheep to believe that we cannot drill our own resources and we HAVE to rely on our enemies’ foreign oil. TREE HUGGERS are ruining our economy, not the President! We want to drill where there are no people living and it would help keep the animals warm in the winter. They want you to believe we would run on reserves that would be out in a matter of 2 weeks and that is BS! What we KNOW of would last 60 YEARS, if we could drill! DRILL, BABY, DRILL!

She has the sickem to match the bite, ouch for Obama and Biden. But she is quite a startling contrast to the composed wife of Obama and also a stark contrast to Hillary Clinton who was widely accepted by women as a great running mate and possible President who had the experience, but just not able to convince the American public that she could enforce her policy, since her plan showed weakness in not being able to field who your enemies are, in ex. big oil, high taxes, big government. Pallin came out swinging and never looked back, she got off to very old fashioned mentality, tough on politics and went on to convince her viewing audience that she was well aware of the abuses and was ready to go after them and do something about it, rather than keep extending a sense of “we care about you” baloney when big oil is concerned specifically about their bottom line profits. There has been much corruption, and in light of even Politicians that can’t keep their own priorities in balance how can they run a government? This women was confident, and it showed, it even bored on coockiness, but she speaks as a true Concervative, she was strong on military re-iterating that military is necessary in order to continue to protect Americans, and that the threat is not over. She was truly inspiring as the voice of an old fashioned sense of American that has moved to the back of the American scene, which has hurt that sense of pride of being American and being proud. Especially in the last 10-15 short years where Americans have seen a growth of illegal aliens, what to make of a diminished sense of what is America? She was able to give example of when she was Mayor of a small town, and having responsiblity, and then went on to discuss “Washington Elite”, this had to ire some of the demilogs that would just be waiting for hint of fear, or sense of acceptance, she spoke diligently and went on to assure American Conservatives, of that “she could care less” type of confidence that speaks volumes for being “your own person”. She is truly a vision of fighting hard to be trustworthy, not taking the easy way out, and not looking for somebody else to do the work that needs to be done by “you”. People

WHY is the pregnant daughter an issue? She isn’t. It’s Palin’s state-funded support of ‘Abstinence Only’ education in the school. Which fails all children, and has failed her own daughter. Palin’s membership in the political party to separate Alaska from the Union. That isn’t very dang ‘American’. She’s involved in an investigation ‘TrooperGate’, she has close ties to Sen. Ted Stevens, who has been indicted for illegal funds and ‘gifts’. Alaska has about 600,000 people in the entire state - it’s not like she’s Gov of California. Seattle has more people than the entire state of Alaska. Oh yeah - Alaskan’s love her. Most people in Alaska have guns - because living in Alaska, it’s easy to become part of the Food Chain. How McBush can pick her on two brief meetings and then call her his political ‘soul mate’ - is confusing. We do not need another elected official in the Oval Office with ties to Big Oil. All citizens of Alaska receive funds annually for ‘Mineral Rights’. All. Palin supports that. Alaskan’s love whomever keeps those checks coming. Money. It’s expensive to live in Alaska.

It is so frustrating to me that people actually think they are entitled to dictate how our leaders live their lives. Where were these “moral conscious” hypocrites when Clinton dragged this entire nation into his sex scandal? Let’s not loose sight of the fact that Mrs. Palin was a mayor and is now a governor; and the last time I checked, they were considered jobs - which already makes her (dare I say it) a “working woman”!! She has managed to see to the safety and well being of 600,000 Alaskans AND love and nurture her 5 children. Sounds like pretty good time management skills to me. I admit I had my concerns about her as VP, only for the fact that I was totally unfamiliar with her; but after last night however, I feel she is an intelligent, confident, genuine, and make no mistake - - TOUGH woman. As for her qualifications, should something happen to McCain……… would you prefer a successful former mayor/governor who has had to make tough business decisions, say no even though it wasn’t the popular thing to do, balance budgets, manage coworkers and constituents etc OR a paper pushing senator whose going to “change” our country (hopefully not as often as he changes his beliefs!)? Whether Bristol’s pregnancy was intentional or not, I commend her decision to give birth. However, Bristol is not running for VP. Her VERY CAPABLE mother is …. You Go Mrs. Palin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, the fact that Sarah Palin has 5 children is the least of my concerns. For all I know, she may be a whiz at juggling family, home and career. I don’t think she should be Vice President because of where she seems to stand on ISSUES (remember those?). She is a woman who is against women’s rights ~ why in the world would any woman want her? You’re part of the moral majority you say, and THAT’s why you’d vote for her? Well, do those morals only apply to everyone else , but not her own family? Let’s face it, McCain picked a nasty, mean, highly unqualified woman, just to have a woman on the ticket.

If you will recall, the major media told us that Palin kept the $230 million that she was given for the bridge to nowhere. I, too, worry that she could become President. Being a mayor, and then a governor of a state with such few people, etc. does not qualify her to be President of the U.S. I don’t like her views on many things, including guns. I think the Constitution needs to be amended to take away that right. There are just way too many illegal guns and we have no idea how to keep track of them. Many legal guns get stolen. I have always thought that the VP had many trips to take and was at the beck and call of the President. What happens when she has a family crisis? I agree with Michelle, above that he picked a “nasty, mean, unqualified woman, just to have a woman on the ticket”. There are other much mre qualified women out there that he could have considered if he just had to have a woman to try and beat Obama. Even if he didn’t I still cannot vote for more good ole boy Republican, with all their money. My gosh, McCain has so many houses he doesn’t even know how many he has (try 7, plus 2 condos, at last count).I know people who don’t even own a house, and some who don’t have a home to live in. I have a daughter on social security disability who barely has $600 a MONTH to live on. Try that McCain or Palin! I am mother of five, who stayed at home, but I did do scouting and room mother volunteering because there were so many moms who had to work. I also taught Sunday School. Everything I did, I did with and for my children. My family came first and actually even with them being grown and having children of their own, they still come first with me.

I don’t think she should have disrespected Senator Obama,I read somewere that she will step on anybody to have her way.So look out Senator McCain.I also read somewere that she is basicially doing a Mayberry Stance were she is from. I mean look at Barney: ).I believe a Woman can do whatever she wants to do,But when it come down to our children that is were we have to draw the line.I could not see myself having anybody watch my child with special needs.I would be to concern not my husband could replace that bond.I guess If you are self center you can do anything. But If you have the money working in your favor you have blinders on what is really going on in my world you really can’t see anything.Just like Obama says 8 is enough.

What I care about Governor Palin is that she is against a women’s right to choose, even in cases of rape and incest!!! I was considering voting for her, no McCain, becasue I’m a Latina for Hillary and wanted a women up there. Not at any price though. After looking at her ideas, creationism in the schools!?!?!, I’m quite convinced I’ll pull the lever for Obama. They even use his Change slogan now!! how cheap is that?

Mary, I don’t think she wouldn’t make a good vp because of her PERSONAL ideals, but because she makes women look bad! She is DUMB and can’t answer a yes or no question, because she doesn’t understand the meaning of the question!1st_ weather you are pro-choice OR pro-life, the question is does anyone have the RIGHT to tell someone else what they can or can’t do with THEIR own bodies! 2nd - if she is for WOMENS RIGHTS, then why did she hide her pregnancy from her work AND go back to work after 3 days and not take maternity leave??? what does that show employers? well let me tell you, they will say “well the vp only needed 3 days why do you need 3 months? 3rd- she didn’t even know wht the “BUSH DOCTRINE” was!!!! Women, use your heads and do your research BEFORE you vote for her, she WILL blow any chance for women to become president in the future, she will push womens rights back 100 years!!! She is a DUMB a@@!!!!
