In Hollywood, girls are apparently having babies at 8 years old. Who cares about 17-year-old Jamie Lynn and Bristol?! These women put the "baby" in baby mamas!

With fall TV almost back into full swing, we were excited by the mother-daughter show Kath and Kim, starring the super funny real-life 43-year-old mom of two, Molly Shannon, and Selma Blair, 35. Ummm, yes, you did read that right, Selma Blair is 35. That means Kath (played by Molly) would have had Kim (Selma) at the ripe old age of just 8 years old. Ahem.

Of course, Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham is only 14 years older than her on-screen daughter Alexis Bledel in real life. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Check out our gallery for way more examples of young actresses playing older moms.

One actress/mom we know said, "Even though I'm in my 30s, I am basically only called in for roles playing 45 or older. I'm playing the mom of twentysomethings...but I'm only 36!"

What's up with this crazy trend? It's almost as ridiculous as the whole "overweight husband/super-hot wife" combo so frequently seen on TV. Oh, and who can forget the painfully thin trend? Sigh ... when are women going to catch a break?
