Tyra Tackles Teen Pregnancy

sign up for the momlogic newsletter Tweet This

Tune in today.

On the heels of the Bristol Palin story, talk show host Tyra Banks addresses teen pregnancy today when she sits down with ten teen girls -- most of whom are pregnant. A web survey of 10,000 teens showed 64% of teen girls are having sex, one in five say they want to be teen moms and more than 50% of sexually active teens don't use protection. Some say they want "baby bumps" like their favorite celebs, while others feel a baby will restore a broken relationship.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!

AND SARAH PALIN WON’T MAKE IT ANY BETTER!! HOW SHE DOESN’T BELIEVE IN BIRTH CONTROL AND SEX EDUCATION IS SCARY AS A MOTHER!!

I HOPE MOTHERS OUT THERE ARE JUST AS CONCERNED AS I AM ABOUT THEIR DAUGHTERS! WE NEED TO EDUCATE OUR GIRLS IN SCHOOLS AND AT HOME!

Do you really believe that all of these girls did not have sex education class. It sounds to me that many of these girls got pregnant on purpose. Education does not prevent children from being stupid or making stupid decisions. I am against my children having sex education in school. I have heard of too many of these classes that make the kids want to become sexually active. They teach the boys and girls together. I don’t think that the girls need to be taught how the boy is made to ejaculate, and boys do not need to be taught how to sexually excite a girl. These are things that my husband had to learn in his sex ed class over ten years ago. To me this is scary as a mother.
Sarah Palin has handled her daughters mistake very well. You say that she doesn’t believe in birth control is this because she believes in teaching abstinance. I will teach my kid that sex is for after marriage. This does not mean that I don’t believe in birth control. I will also teach them about the risks of having unprotected sex and the risks of having sex with more than one partner. I want to know what they are being taught not leave that up to a teacher.
