If you're carrying around an enormous bag, you could be causing yourself some major injury.
Oversized bags are in -- and the bigger it is, the more we want to stuff in there. The problem is that it's killing our backs! "When a patient comes in complaining of neck and shoulder pain, I walk over and pick up her purse. It always weights a ton," says chiropractor Robin Ehrlich. The problem becomes worse if you're talking on the celly while carrying your load: One shoulder can become higher than the other, which can cause some serious tension headaches.
So what to do if you are a slave to fashion? "Clear out your purse once a week and even clean out the pockets so the weight is dispensed evenly. Keep the strap as close to the neck as possible, so it rests towards the center of the body," Robin says.
Or you could just leave the five lb. make-up bag at home ...
