Federal Agents broke up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree. In court records unsealed Monday, agents said they disrupted two neo-Nazi skinheads' plans to rob a gun store and target an unnamed but predominantly African-American high school. Jim Cavanaugh, special agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community. "They said that would be their last, final act - that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

Yes they may have foiled one attempt but I am sure there will be many more attempts on Mr. Obamas’ life. I feel sure someone will end up being successful and then we will be stuck with Mr. Biden as our President. We are screwed either way.

seriously snicole-you sound very ignorant. i am voting for obama, yet it is a very harsh reality that there will be many groups like this that will attempt to get rid of obama. he isn’t even president yet, imagine when he becomes president. there are many people still in this country who are racist-it’s a sad reality. i don’t wish death on any of the candidates, but i think that obama has the greatest risk of assasination. there is a good chance that a vice president will have to take the role of president, with the assasination attempts on obama and mccain being up there in age. i would rather have biden than palin for pres if it happens that way.

It’s a shame that even today racism exist. But I’m sure that when Obama accepted the nomination, he knew he had placed a target on his back. And the underlying racial tones that Palin uses at the McCain/Palin rallies, doesn’t help the situation. Helena/West Helena is only 30 miles from where I live and being an African American wife and mother of four, makes these “monsters” attempted actions a very hard pill to swallow. Hate should never be accepted and people who preach it and teach it, have not place in the leadership of our country.
