Guy Cannady, father of murdered 26-year-old anchorwoman Ann Pressly, spoke to Matt Lauer on "Today" about his daughter's passionate life.

Anne Pressly, a 26-year-old television anchorwoman who had a cameo role in the new George Bush film "W," died in a hospital on the weekend after being severely beaten at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Anne was found by her mother on Monday, just 30 minutes before she was due to be on air as a presenter of KATV.

She had been beaten around the head, neck and face and was unable to communicate with her family or police. She died at a hospital in Little Rock on Saturday night.

In a statement released by the hospital, Ann's parents, Guy and Patti Cannady, asked for privacy as they grieved. "We were with her in her last moments, and although our hearts are broken, we are at the same time comforted by our faith knowing that Anne is now with our heavenly father."

Guy Cannady sat down with Matt Lauer to share his thoughts on his daughter's brutal death.

"Ann had a spark and vibrancy about her -- she was the real deal. She treated everyone the same no matter if they were the president or a person on the street. She was an incredible person both personally and professionally."

"We were so proud when she went from reporter to anchorwoman and when she landed the role in 'W.' She was always a hard worker and had passion for her profession."

When Matt asks if Ann was ever afraid for her safety, Guy says absolutely not. "She never mentioned anything about having a stalker. Everyone in our town is stunned an attack like this could happen. Now the women in Little Rock are terrified. This person is still out there, but we will bring him to justice."
