Body Language Expert: McCain the Most 'Presidential'

Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Who won the town hall debate? A body language expert says McCain and Obama were both good, but McCain had a definite edge. Find out why.

Body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass believes actions speak louder than words. So she watched the candidate's gestures and mannerisms during the presidential debate and gave us her expert analysis:

• When John McCain raises his eyebrows and opens his eyes up wide, it shows a sincerity and an openness that is very confident.

• Obama really looked at McCain when he spoke, and smiled even when being criticized, which showed he is very respectful.

• When McCain put his hand on the Petty Officer and patted him, he was so genuine and passionate. You finally saw a side of him that was lovable and warm.

• When Obama spoke about his mother, his hand opened up and he was talking right to you. He really connected with the audience. You felt his emotion, and it choked people up.

• McCain gestures with such difficulty, it brings you back to the fact that those arms were crushed in war, and how much he suffered for our country.

"Information-wise, they both really won the debate -- it was a virtual tie," says Dr. Glass. "But in terms of body language and communication style, McCain won hands down. He was fluid, engaging, and presidential."

I don’t care about “body language” so much as, who is better qualified to be president; who is the person that I trust to take care of this country and get it back on it’s feet; who is the person who served our country in both good times and bad times, and if he’s going to get ‘blamed’ for the last 8 years then he ought to get some ‘credit’ for having been in the Senate during the good times as well… of course, I’m talking about John McCain. I think ‘body’ language is only fair to discuss amongst two people who have not suffered the physical atrocities that John McCain has.

John McCain’s breathing was labored at times and his voice showed clearly that he was nervous. These things, coupled with the GAZILLION “My Friends” were such a turn off to me that I can’t express it in words. He seems so UN-Presidential to me that I can’t believe a so called “body language expert” would say anything other than that. Clearly not a good choice

As a Canadian and therefore not driven by patriotism or sentimentality, I can state that Obama was the clear winner in this debate. McCain came off as nervous, stiff, he kept wondering around the stage, overdid it with the “my friends ” and I found him petty & disrespectful when he used the term “that one ” when speaking of Obama. Clearly a tired & frustrated old man who know’s he is in trouble.

Your ‘body language expert’ couldn’t pick out a hooker in a convent. Participating in the debate were a confident, charismatic, capable, intelligent future president, and an elderly, doddering, barely coherent curmudgeon. I know who looked more like a leader to me, and who just looked like an embittered lifelong wannabe.

Cara What little faith you have for such an experienced, gifted man. Get a backbone like Rachael and speak the truth, my dear. Don’t be fooled by the left wing media that tries to deceive you into thinking Obama is winning. He is not! I haven’t met one person, yet, that is voting for Obama. NOT ONE! People are outraged that he is even running for President. He is NOT QUALIFIED! Something is wrong with people who ignore his total lack of experience just because they want a Democrat to win. If Barack Obama were the Republican candidate I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HIM. He will run this country into the ground with his socialist ideas. Cara don’t just wave a white flag and say it’s over because I guarantee you it’s NOT! McCain and Palin will prevail, you’ll see!!! Stand up for them and don’t give up so easily. Don’t be fooled, vote your conscience…GOOD always wins!

Hilarious article. This so-called expert must be putting their opinion up for sale to the highest bidder. It was quite obvious that Obama won the debate and McCain looked very “beta-male” and un-presidential.
