Casey Anthony Could Face Murder Charges

Today, Casey Anthony's fate rested with a grand jury, who decided if she will face more serious charges, even murder. They have returned an indictment in the case of missing toddler Caylee Anthony; it remains sealed pending an arrest.

This morning, prosecutors presented the case against Casey Anthony -- the mother of missing three-year-old Caylee -- to members of a grand jury. They had to decide whether she will face more serious charges, including murder.

Cops say the 22-year-old mom is the main suspect in the disappearance of her daughter, who's been missing since July 15. Casey told detectives that she last saw Caylee in mid-June when she left the girl with a babysitter. Casey says when she returned to get Caylee, both Caylee and the babysitter were gone. Authorities have not been able to find the nanny, and they doubt this "babysitter" even exists.

Anthony is currently charged with child neglect, filing a false statement with law enforcement and check fraud. Police say they believe Caylee is dead.

This morning, Judge Jeanine Pirro spoke to Matt Lauer on the "Today" show about what this means for Casey Anthony.

I can understand the anger and sadness around this case. To imagine that a mother could kill her child is horrendous. However, this case has alot of implications which are not appearent on the surface. If she is convicted without the childs body being found and all there is against her is the testimony of a dog, which by law can’t be cross examined and a hair in the trunk. Suppose you or someone close to you were to have something horrid happen and with this sort of ruling becoming the legal benchmark. We all could be in very grave danger. It opens the door for doctored, biased or invalid proof could be used against us for any crime which a prosecutor who in most cases is complelled to win the big case. Remember there has been in the past alot of injustice where alot of inocent people have gone to jail or prison because it made a prosecutor look good. Nobody knows if she is innocent or guilty. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. If she is innocent why won’t they launch a search for Caylee. The grandma believes Caylee is alive. So why aren’t they looking for her. The law has gained the normal tunnel vision and as usual won’t look for the truth. There only intrest is winning this case and placing another notch in there lawyer belt. We all need to understand that if we keep allowing guilt by hearsay and the testimony of dogs. We all could face a very grim future where the law becomes totally injust. This is the building blocks from past countries where they stripped the people of their rights and eventually declared themselves dictators and made it a crime to speak out against their iron fist rule of the people. Mock trials are a mockery and very dangerous to our way of living. Be careful who you say is guilty without proof, because the next person found guilty might be you or someone you love based on some crazy law passed by the government. Our hearts go out to Caylee and her family including her mom. May the real truth be found by finding Caylee. After they find Caylee then if needed let the trial begin, but not until she’s found. Remember the case against the parents of Jon Benet Ramsey where they tried to find them guilty with
