Celebrity volunteers are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity for the first annual "Building a Greater Los Angeles Gala" held October 1. Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Carrie Underwood and many other stars have donated items to this action with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting families in need. Each year many of these celebrities work alongside Habitat families with the mission of providing safe housing to those in need.
