Colin Powell is criticizing Republican nominee John McCain's campaign, saying it is too narrowly focused and that he is throwing his support being Barack Obama. Both campaigns sought General Powell's endorsement but Powell says he made his mind up after watching the candidates response to the financial crisis."In the case of Mr McCain, I found that he was a little unsure," Powell said. He also disapproves of Senator McCain's choice of running mate - Alaskan governor Sarah Palin. "That raised some question in my mind as to the judgment that Senator McCain made," he said. He says Senator Obama is a "transformational" figure. "I'll be voting for Senator Barack Obama."

Colin Powell will have a role as a top presidential adviser in an Obama administration, the Democratic White House hopeful said Monday.

Well at least we all know why he endorsed Obama: He got tired of being insignificant after taking credit for the work of General Shwartzkoff and being a useless Sec. of State.

I’m sure that Powell could have had a top adviser role in a McCain administration also (McCain has sung his praises in the past.)

I think that his points for his choice are well presented. The campaign has become too negative. Palin is not a great pick for VP, etc., etc.

For those who brush off Powell’s endorsement as a political jockeying or a race-based thing, that says more about how they view the world then what Colin Powell said!
