The rumors are flying about the what REALLY went wrong with the Material Mom and her soon to be ex-husband.

For a couple that's been awfully quiet for the past seven plus years, their "close friends" are now spilling the beans all over the tabloids on what caused the power couple to split. It's a classic battle of he said, she said.

• A source close to Madonna told Perez Hilton that Richie was only after Madonna's money and never spent a dime of his own. • They claim he wants to fight her for half of her fortune. • Madonna was caught on video implying to a stadium full of concert goers that Richie is "emotionally retarded."	• Apparently she was obsessed with turning back time. Her trainer lived with them for the past year and there's no sugar allowed in the house. Her work out routine was never less than two hours a day, six days a week. • Every element in their house was dictated by her, including the conversation.

Madonna's brother -- who loves weighing in on his estranged sister's life -- says the reason for the split was Kabbalah, adding their marriage was based on the religion and it wasn't enough to sustain the relationship.
