"I think it's amazing that I'm alive to be able to tell this story," she tells momlogic.

Marcia Brady on "The Brady Bunch" was perfect -- on camera. Off camera, Maureen McCormick says she struggled with drug addiction and depression.

Now she's telling all in her new book, "Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice," which hits stores today. "I want to reach and help a lot of people with this book," Maureen exclusively tells momlogic. "I'm scared, but it's wonderful. I feel like I'm in labor!"

In the book, she tackles some difficult subjects. "I talk about depression, mental illness, drug abuse ... it's really an honest book that I wrote from my heart," she says. "I've truly been through it all."

Maureen, who has a 19-year-old daughter, says she now has no more secrets. "There are so many things I've hidden for so long, but I just decided to roll up my sleeves and go for it," Maureen says "I'm nervous, excited, and all of the above. I think it's amazing that I'm alive to be able to tell this story."

It seems like when a celebrity wants to rejuvinate their career they write a tell-all book.

WELL TIMES ARE TOUGH, I`M SURE EVEN AN EX BRADY NEEDS MONEY NOW. MAYBE THE PRICE OF DRUGS HAVE GONE UP LIKE THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING ELSE

Wow,doesn’t anyone think maybe she’s just been through and seen enough and maybe she wants to help other people? Sure she’ll make alot of money maybe even have the book turned into a movie but it’s not a crime to make money at leats she is smart enough to get off the drugs.

There are people who will benefit from her book. If she makes a little money from it, more power to her. But mostly, I just wish her the best and much contentment, happiness, health & peace.

I doubt the price of drugs has gone up as for most it’s considered “recreational”, not abuse and luxuries are one of the first things to go. I think the money is for the lifestyle she “used” to have so she can get back into the “fringe” of the LA elite.

if anyone watched celebrity fit club, then theyd know how sweet and genuine she really is, i have so much respect for her and hope her book DOES sell well
