Melissa Etheridge told "EXTRA" she plans to marry long-term girlfriend Tammy Lynn Michaels before California's vote next month on whether to deny same-sex couples of the right to marry. "Yes, we have four children and we're trying to find the right time," Etheridge said in an interview. This will be the second wedding for the pair: Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2003 in celebration of California's Domestic Partnership ruling.

In May, the California Supreme Court granted same-sex couples the right to marry, but residents opposing the decision are calling for an amendment to the state's constitution that would ban gay marriage. Voters will cast their ballots in November's election on whether or not to support the proposition.
