A 33-year-old woman accused of posing as her daughter to join the cheerleading squad has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Wendy Brown enrolled in a Wisconsin high school posing as her 15-year-old daughter, practiced with the cheerleading squad and even went to a party at the coach's house. Brown is now facing felony charges of identity theft, as well as theft and forgery charges from an unrelated case. She could get up to 13 years in prison if convicted on all charges. Some dreams just die hard!

I just don’t get it. That woman did NOT look like she was anywhere near high school age. And where was her daughter?? Were these people (the coach, students, school) seriously fooled into thinking she was 15?? How did she enroll in school?? Where I live there are so many things you have to do to prove who you are and where you live, noone could get away with something like this.

Thirteen years is kind of a harsh punishment. Yeah, the lady clearly seems insane but does that mean she deserves to be imprisoned? She didn’t put anyone in danger and for all we know she was simply seeing if it could be done and isn’t really crazy at all.
