Imagine having $150,000 to spend on new clothes -- Sarah Palin did.

The VP candidate's team reportedly spent $75,062 on clothing at a Minneopolis Neiman Marcus and later $41,950 at another Neiman Marcus in St. Louis. Additionally, they spent $4,100 on makeup and hair consultations, according to Politico.

But who paid for all of this? The Republican Party coordinated expenses with the McCain camp and the RNC paid for the makeover, not the McCain committee. Why? Federal campaign finance law says they cannot use campaign funds for personal use, including clothes -- but they can use party money. Let's just back up though -- $150,000 on clothes since August 28, when her nomination was announced. That's $75,000 a month on clothes, which is more than most of us make all year. Just sayin'...

i agree w/ lori……you are right, why is it ok that obama is spending campaign money on a party??..who cares what she wears, this whole entire election has poked fun at sarah. we need to focus on the issues. obama being tied to terrorists perhaps

Don’t blame Palin. Blame the RNC. The only people that should be upset are the foolish Republican donators to the RNC. They should be steaming mad that the RNC spent so lavishly at Nieman Marcus, Saks., etc. They should have been shopping at Target. If you want to talk about lavish spending, let’s talk about the $250 million spent in the last 30 days by both parties on advertising. If they really were for the saving people from the Credit Crisis, they could have agreed to spend that money buying foreclosed homes and renting them back to their former owners to keep them from becoming homeless.

Obama supporters who trashed Palin from day one are ranting about her wardrobe and other petty matters, while an anti-American Socialist / Marxist racist is about to highjack our government, with the help of voter fraud, and a corrupt biased media. You’d better wake up America … or, this country is about to experience an ugly 4 year long nightmare under Obama/Biden !!!

My comment on the “she’s donating all the clothes to charity” thing… 1) so she won’t need these clothes after the election? Does that mean she plans on losing!?? or that she’s gonna wear her “old” governor clothes if she becomes VP? 2) what about donating MONEY to charity? That’s what would probably be more helpful to down and out people… rather than expensive clothes!! And along those lines, Replublicans are usually so anti-welfare, anti-handouts… why are they so keen on making a big point that they’re donating the clothes? They’re against social security, against Medicare, against food stamps…. but yeah, poor struggling Americans need Sarah Palin’s used clothes. Gee, thanks.
