Sperm from one single donor has been used to impregnate 30 lesbians in one Australian town, causing fears their offspring will accidentally commit incest. Australian law only allows the use of fertility treatments by infertile couples or those at risk of passing down serious defects. Because of this, many gays and lesbians go outside official channels and use "backyard" donors, as in this case, where one donor gave generously to many people in the same town.

The mothers of the children have begun organizing picnics so the children meet each other as siblings, hopefully preventing future romantic relationships.
