Master cleanses, detoxes, portioned meals and protein shakes... what will they come up with next? How about shrinking your appetite without having gastric bypass surgery?

Meal substitutes and counting calories aren't always the easiest diets to achieve. Dr. Alwin Lewis has come up with a diet plan to help people achieve long-lasting weight loss -- all while eating what they want. With Dr. Lewis's diet plan, you should expect to lose 15 or more pounds each week until you reach your desired weight.

Here is what your diet would consist of:

• Drink as much of anything as you want as long as it doesn't contain calories.
• Take 5 bites of any food at lunch.
• Take 5 bites of anything at dinner.
• Take one multi-vitamin every day.
• Get a bit of protein a day "on average."

According to Dr. Lewis, after three days of this diet you will no longer be hungry. What do you think? Is this a healthy way to lose and maintain an ideal weight?

You’ll be too tired and malnourished to be hungry. Thumbs down.

That is one of the most asinine things I’ve heard of in a long time.

Any “weight loss plan” that does not include exercise is not a safe, healthy or lasting way to lose weight. Sorry, but the only way to get the fat off your butt is to get off your fat butt! ;) (That being said, I HATE exercising!)

I think people need to read his book then you would get a better understanding of what he is talking about instead of always thinking that when something is a little different that it’s strange or “not healthy”. Being obese is “not healthy”, and this IS a fact…

I agree with Debra. I have read the book and there is more to it then what is explained here. There are a lot of interesting facts that he talks about. He is a doctor after all. Read the book then give your opinion. I finished the book this morning and found it very motivating. My friend and I are doing this together.

I am doing this diet and have lost over 4o lbs so far. This is the first diet that I have been on where I dont have to worry about my blood sugars they are in the normal range and this is a wonderful lifestyle where there are no foods off limits. I am full of energy now, I think you should not be to quick to judge.
