Retailers are bracing for weak holiday sales this season due to the uncertain economic times.
Consumers cut back on spending since the market collapse in September and the rising unemployment rate, but retailers are hoping sales will entice shoppers to come back to their stores.
Retailers extended their hours, some opened as early as 4am, and are offering major early morning sales on everything from flat screen TVs to DVDs.
Despite the discounted prices, shoppers are restricting their spending and buying less gifts this holiday season. Some shoppers are putting away the plastic and paying for everything in cash so they don't go further into debt in the New Year.
