Oh Jesus! Costume Gets Boy Booted from School

An eighth-grade student in New Jersey was sent home from school on Friday for dressing up as Jesus.
Thirteen-year-old Alex Woinski says his friends always told him he looked like Jesus with his long hair, so he decided to dress up as the prophet for Halloween. He donned a fake beard, sandals, a sash and thorns.
The school principal said Alex was sent home from school because his costume was a disruption to students. (Aren't all costumes in school a disruption?)
Alex, who has a Catholic mother and Jewish father, recently celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and has an interest in religion. His mother, Kim Woinski said, "I think the whole freedom of speech and expression has definitely had a damper put on it, and this is proof of that".
Alex didn't appear to be in trouble with his parents. He hit the streets trick-or-treating dressed as Jesus on Friday night.
