Grandparents Believe Mall Sighting is Caylee

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

As the holidays approach, the Anthonys still hope for their granddaughter's safe return. Could a sighting at a mall be the answer to their prayers?

It's been a tough week for the Anthonys -- scratch that, it's been a tough 25 weeks. Since July they've been searching, hoping and praying for the safe return of their beloved granddaughter, Caylee Anthony. Meanwhile, their daughter, Casey Anthony awaits trial for first-degree murder charges in a Florida jail. Then, last week the Anthonys' lawyer, Mark NeJame, resigned followed by the Orange County Sheriffs Office statement announcing they believe the three-year-old is dead and consequently will no longer follow up on any Caylee sighting.

But Dominic Casey, head of D & A Investigations, Inc., the agency working with the Anthony family believes things might be looking up. A photo sent to him via cellphone has offered the Anthonys a least a ray of hope. The picture, taken at Avenue's Mall in Jacksonville, Florida is of a little girl, with similar coloring to the missing toddler. Dominic  believes the resemblance is more than slight. Among the similarities visible in the photo he says is a little patch of thinning hair on the girls head and the way she holds her hands. Both says, Dominic, are strong indicators that would lead him to believe there is a strong possibility that it is Caylee Marie.

The Anthonys think so too, claims Dominic: "George and Cindy have looked at the picture extremely closely for every detail and for all intents and purposes, they believe it is Caylee Marie."

Who accompanied the little girl to the mall is still a mystery. The anonymous source that snapped the photo did not speak to the toddler. Dominic Casey explains it's not uncommon for people to keep their distance when reporting a missing child. "At first people are in shock. They are afraid to approach for fear that if they do, the people with the child will be scared off." Whether the little girl is indeed Caylee  -- no one has come forward to identify the girl in the photo.

And through it all, life goes on for the Anthony family, including celebrating Thanksgiving. According to a spokesman from the Orange Country Jail, Casey Anthony will celebrate the holiday by eating her Thanksgiving meal, as she does all her meals, alone in her jail cell.

For her parents, Cindy and George, Dominic reports it's extremely difficult for the couple to feel in a festive mood, but friends and family have encouraged them to have a Thanksgiving at their Orlando home. At the table, says Dominic Casey, "there will be two extra plates, one for Caylee and another for Casey."

Geez, and the person who took the photo, did not give a description of the person this girl was with? lol come on. Just took a pic of her? Yeah right !!! Why didnt the person contact the police when they took it? Or security at the mall? This is crazy. You can tell its not Caylee. I think the Anthonys knows Caylee is dead. This is a joke. The Anthonys make me sick.

Until Caylee is found, dead or alive, they will remain positive. If we were walking in Cindy and George’s shoes, we would be the same way they are being.

I would not handle it the same. Everyone knows that their daughter knows way more than she is telling. They should not have allowed her into their house until she spoke the truth. A little bit of hard love is what they need to give her.

I am with Sally, there is no evidence drug dealers took her. If drug dealers took her why does that trunk smell like a dead body according to Cindy, George, the tow yard guy, cadaver dogs, a police detective and the Body Farm?. Just a ooincidence?. Even Casey referred to the dead smell in her text messages to Amy, although of course she said it was dead squirrels that crawled up there and died. They were probably driving the car too. Also on another site they have a side by side comparison and you can see not only are the ears wrong but Caylee has baby fat and a rounded chin where this child has a pointy chin and a straighter nose,.Unless this child had a chin implant, her ears moved and a nose job, this is not Caylee, just a convenient brown haired girl to get Casey off

Well I would not handle it the same, I object to Cindy lying, she came out and said that in the tow yard managers statement he said the car did not smell for five days. Little did she know the statement would be made public and it does not even remotely say that. She said the police told her the dogs cleared her backyard and the trunk. The police clarified that the dogs hit in the yard and the trunk, two dogs. Now, she gives the police the wrong hairbrush to confuse them. Denial as a form of grief is one thing. Lying to get your daughter off and misleading the investigators is quite another.

Look, I am sick of people that say grandma and grandpa need to get over this and understand she is dead!Who are you to tell someone how long to hold on? Have you had a child or grand child die? God help you, I hope you never feel that way missing a loved one! I have examined the picture and the dimple the other woman mentioned is a pixal from the cell phones low res. The other woman said her ear lobes are off I lined them up too and they match! I do not think this is her,but unless they have found her body, they need to still look for the baby!

You people really amuse me. It’d be funny if she really is found alive, then people can go all over the message boards of different websites and saying “I told you so” to all you nay-sayers and rubbing it in your face. The media is only putting out the negative evidence from what has been found. Example: The bags in the river are announced, a ton of people say “I hope Casey Anthony is given what she deserves with these new findings.” SURPRISE! It was a hoax. “Wow. I feel stupid now.” Yeah, I’m hoping that’s what it all turns into. I am hoping for the girl’s safe return, but I am also hoping that you all get punched in the face by the fact that she was out there, and you all kept saying Casey was guilty, when she wasn’t. The responses you people give are from YOUR perspective. Have you ever had a child disappear in a large city, and a ton of webpages go out about your missing child, and yet no Amber Alert is given? Or do any webpages post how many sets of cadaver dogs found this tracing of death in her car’s trunk? Because right when the reports came out, it was stated by numerous sources that the dogs that found that particular scent…were the SECOND pair. The other pair of dogs found nothing. There is some evidence suggesting she’s dead, but still evidence suggesting she isn’t. I doubt the Anthony’s are that “crafty” that they are going to conspire with people around the country to call in pictures of girls bearing a resemblance to their granddaughter, then denounce their hope and prayers. MOST, IF NOT ALL OF YOU, HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THEIR POSITION. All the negative comments and insults flying around this case are from people who have a one-track mind. The comment from the mother who made a page on Momlogic stating she somewhat felt for Casey, but wouldn’t go so far as to chloroform the kid? I read all those responses. “How could you say that? I love my kids and would NEVER chloroform the kids. I cherish every moment I have with them.” BLAH BLAH BLAH. No child is the same as yours. Your “perfect little world” is different from everyone else’s world. Put yourself in another person’s position, imagine what they go through as well, or even better,

Sadly this is not Caylee…Cindy is clutching at straws. Please hurry up and convict Casey…she is SOOO guilty…her snivelling/simpering way of cheating/lying does not impress! Bless Caylee XXX

Continued: imagine more than your own little world and see things from someone else’s eyes. The media is only stating biased evidence so that the case builds up to where Casey Anthony is nothing BUT guilty. Sure she is a compulsive liar, sure she is a sociopath, but she isn’t the only one that is like that and gets caught. So many people lead those kinds of lives and don’t have their kids “disappear” or worse yet, kill the kid, and so they aren’t brought to media attention, but people like that ARE out there. Get a clue people, and stop talking down when there still isn’t a body, evidence is still piling up on both sides, and people are still out there praying for the child’s safe return.

Heck, our housemaid’s daughter looks like Caylee, and i look like her back in my childhood and now, maybe. Lemme guess, the FBI are going to investigate anyone who looks like Caylee from USA or not. I hope Caylee wasn’t actually dead. Caylee makes me think of the singer Selena who died of being murdered.

I don’t know about anyone else on here but I based my feelings and opinions about George & Cindy Anthony on the words they have spoken and their actions since 15th July 2008 — and I am sorry but IMO everything points to them in a cover-up about what really happened to little Caylee. Why does George and Cindy have two different opinions about their own daughter Casey and the type of individual she was — someone if not telling the truth and this whole tragic ordeal would not be so horrible if it was not for all the lies that Casey told to LE from the very beginning. Casey’s storyline for what really happened to little Caylee is all a lie — there is no Zenaida Gonzalez and there was never a nanny who babysat for little Caylee for almost 2 years - simply because NOBODY else in the Anthonys little world have ever seen her nor really heard eith Casey or little Caylee speak about her. This is not a case similar to other missing childrens cases or outright kidnapping cases. George & Cindy are not in denial they are in survival mode — for themselves as well as Casey and the way they are going about all of this shows more disrespect for little Caylee now then whatever it was that happened to her on the day/night she became deceased!!

Look at photo of Caylee inset on her grandparent picture….this child has a little button nose that curves in above the nostrils. The child in the photograph has a much larger, more prominent bridge to her nose. I can tell you what - If I thought I had seen Caylee out in public I would have called the police on that cell phone and followed those people until the police showed up….who would just let that go given the gravity and amount of publicity in this case…who wouldn’t want to help rescue this child or at least confirm that she is, in fact, alive. I believe that the Anthony’s know in their hearts that their granddaughter is dead. I believe that Cindy Anthony has spent her whole life covering for her daughter and has continued to do so throughout this case - what mother would purposefully go into their daughter’s car trunk, take out clothes that smelled like death and wash them????? Cindy Anthony should be prosecuted right along side her daughter…and be charged additionally with obstruction for her part in this cover up.

the difference between sean hornbeck and Caylee is that there was NO evidence in Sean’s case. He simply vanished. There were no lying parents, no interference with the investigation, no decomposition of a body in a trunk, he was reported immediately, his parents didn’t go off and party for a month in his absence…really? Do I have to go on?

It’s overwhelming convincing to most of us that Caylee is no longer alive. For grandparents with a giant hole in their heart though, nothing is beyond their imagination and deepest desire to have that baby back in their arms. When my young brother died during our childhood, even though I saw his body—I still had fantasies and imagined scenerios of how he could miraculously still be alive. I was eleven, but I guess my brain might work the same way now at 52 with a similiar tragic loss. I completely understand how they could have gotten to this fantasyland—very, very sad for all of them. Not sure how they will ever get a grip on reality again; this would have made me totally insane; especailly the weird world of lies that Casey has created. What a crazy story!

This doesn’t look anything like Caylee. The nose is even different.

Whoever pointed out the thing about the dimples is absolutely right. I hadn’t noticed it before but the little girl in the mall picture clearly has dimples. I also agree with the poster above who said that right after I snapped the picture I would have been dialing 911 and getting the cops there pronto. I would never have sent it to the investigator. Trust me, I would love to be wrong about this whole situation. I would love to have to say I was wrong about Casey when Caylee shows up alive. I don’t think anyone wouldn’t love to see that precious little girl actually be alive. But at some point when it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, walks like a duck, you have to accept the fact that it is a duck.

Sandy, being positive and hopeful is fine except the evidence points to Caylee being dead at the hands of her mother. I look at it as an individual situation. I am a grandmother also so I can empathize with George and Cindy. But their situation is different from ours. Casey is not like your daughter or my daughter or other people’s daughters. She is a sociopath and sociopaths can kill because they don’t bond to their families, only think of themselves and have no remorse. It is rare for a mother to kill her child but it does happen. There is no similiarity between the disappearance of Caylee Anthony and the kidnapping of Sean Hornbeck. There was no smell of a dead body in his mother’s car after he went missing and his parents did not wait 31 days to call the police. He was kidnapped by a pediofile. His case is rare also because most children kidnapped by pediofiles are not found alive several years later. Drug dealers do not kidnap children, feed and clothe them, keep them happy and take them to malls. Drug dealers are focused on drugs and money. A kidnapped child whose picture is on every TV set in the world would be a liabilty to drug dealers. Any kidnappers would have tried to claim the quarter of a million dollar reward money offered for an alive Caylee.

That is not her… Strange how this person didn’t call 911 but “took a picture?” She’s dead. I wish they could find the body already and prove it to the Grandparents so this charade would end. I hate that Cindy A. deliberately gave the wrong hairbrush to the FBI. One question has really plagued me about this case. The father of Caylee is not clear. Lee, her brother, made an issue out of giving his DNA. He is missing in action now. He lied for her. He acted, in my opinion, all too much like a boyfriend instead of a brother around her. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Did Casey have an incestuous relationship with her own brother? She hid her pregnancy and it seems like there is nothing that girl won’t do. I bet he is.

Gosh, I just wish Casey Anthony would tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I’m just not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.
