Grandparents Believe Mall Sighting is Caylee

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

As the holidays approach, the Anthonys still hope for their granddaughter's safe return. Could a sighting at a mall be the answer to their prayers?

It's been a tough week for the Anthonys -- scratch that, it's been a tough 25 weeks. Since July they've been searching, hoping and praying for the safe return of their beloved granddaughter, Caylee Anthony. Meanwhile, their daughter, Casey Anthony awaits trial for first-degree murder charges in a Florida jail. Then, last week the Anthonys' lawyer, Mark NeJame, resigned followed by the Orange County Sheriffs Office statement announcing they believe the three-year-old is dead and consequently will no longer follow up on any Caylee sighting.

But Dominic Casey, head of D & A Investigations, Inc., the agency working with the Anthony family believes things might be looking up. A photo sent to him via cellphone has offered the Anthonys a least a ray of hope. The picture, taken at Avenue's Mall in Jacksonville, Florida is of a little girl, with similar coloring to the missing toddler. Dominic  believes the resemblance is more than slight. Among the similarities visible in the photo he says is a little patch of thinning hair on the girls head and the way she holds her hands. Both says, Dominic, are strong indicators that would lead him to believe there is a strong possibility that it is Caylee Marie.

The Anthonys think so too, claims Dominic: "George and Cindy have looked at the picture extremely closely for every detail and for all intents and purposes, they believe it is Caylee Marie."

Who accompanied the little girl to the mall is still a mystery. The anonymous source that snapped the photo did not speak to the toddler. Dominic Casey explains it's not uncommon for people to keep their distance when reporting a missing child. "At first people are in shock. They are afraid to approach for fear that if they do, the people with the child will be scared off." Whether the little girl is indeed Caylee  -- no one has come forward to identify the girl in the photo.

And through it all, life goes on for the Anthony family, including celebrating Thanksgiving. According to a spokesman from the Orange Country Jail, Casey Anthony will celebrate the holiday by eating her Thanksgiving meal, as she does all her meals, alone in her jail cell.

For her parents, Cindy and George, Dominic reports it's extremely difficult for the couple to feel in a festive mood, but friends and family have encouraged them to have a Thanksgiving at their Orlando home. At the table, says Dominic Casey, "there will be two extra plates, one for Caylee and another for Casey."

I just saw a news article (I get all this on Google alerts—am I addicted or what?) saying more documents have been released, and that “neck-breaking” and “household weapons” were terms Casey searched for. I am freshly horrified at this woman—am wiping away tears as I write—what sort of monster could want to break her child’s precious neck? I am not big on throwing out theories without a lot of evidence, but I am more and more beginning to believe she was envisioning not only life without Caylee but maybe also without her parents—what does everyone else think?

From all evidence caylee is deceased. I personally think that Cindy anthony knows what her daughter has done with this childs remains. I thiink cindy should keep her mouth shut she is only trying to cover for her daughter who definitely is a thief and a liar. The mother knew what kind of daughter she was raising, she should have put a stop to what casey was doing before something like this happened. I hope casey is found guilty of murder and rots in prison.

Jaybird, you are absolutely right. I was chilled to the bone when I read that Casey Anthony told her friend Amy -the friend she stole from - that her parents were getting a divorce and giving her the house and Casey and Amy were planning on moving in the Anthony house the weekend Caylee disappeared. I think Casey was planning on chloroforming George, Cindy and Caylee as they slept and bury their bodies in the back yard and say they all went to Europe. Then it would become a party house. However, Casey’s plans were foiled when Cindy choked Casey after she stole her grandfathers assisted living fund and told her to get out. Casey took Caylee and killed her to get even.

Isn’t it amazing that the person that took this picture was not able to get a front view picture, the could not wait for the child to turn around to get a picture of her face as opposed to a side view, or could it be that when she turned around she didn’t look so much like Caylee, interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only pictures that are sent are always from the side or under a cap, I don’t think it would be that hard in this case where they are watching the little girl play that there was not the opportunity to catch a front view, give me a freaking break, Cindy probably took the picture herself, and sent in anonymously Disgusting!!!! If I thought I saw a missing child playing at a McDonalds or somewhere, I would call police immediately and if they left before the police got there I would follow them home to get their address, this is another hoax, the Anthonys make me sick!!!!!!!

People who are taking pictures are either from the Anthony defense team or are looking for the quarter of a million reward money. If I had a three year old daughter or granddaughter and I saw someone taking a picture of her I’d stop them. No one has a right to take a picture of every 3 year old girl in America because Casey hid Caylee’s body so well it hasn’t been found. That’s harassment. It kills me that Cindy is always saying Caylee has the right for someone to look for her. Well, Cindy other three year old girls have a right not to be frightened by people taking their picture and their parents being forced to prove that she is their daughter. Cindy, stop telling people to harrass every three year old girl in America just so you can pretend your granddaughter is still alive. Cindy, see a psychiatrist and get some help and quit trying to convince us that Casey is innocent and Caylee is alive.

If the child is not Caylee then why is it that no one has come forward to say this is their child and not Caylee????????? If the pic was of my daughter I would have called FOX news instantly so as not to have any time wasted tracking us down that should have been used to find Caylee, dead or alive. I do think the child in the pic could be Caylee based on the triangle shaped bare patch that shows in all her pics when her hair is pulled into a pony tail. Remember that police are allowed to lie when they are trying to break a case and I think that is what they have been doing. The chloroform levels in the trunk are way too high for body decomp but would be about right for a wet bathing suit tossed into the trunk after swimming in a pool.

Jodi, we don’t know someone hasn’t told someone that is their child in the picture. If they haven’t, that doesn’t mean Caylee is alive. Chloroform isn’t coming from the dead body. The chloroform was on a rag used to kill Caylee. Chloroform isn’t in swimming pools. Chlorine is. DNA evidence and cadaver dogs don’t lie. Even George, a former homicide cop, said he smelled a decomposed body in that trunk and that you never forget the smell of a dead body. So did a homicide cop who owned the cadaver dog, the tow truck driver and Cindy Anthony, a registered nurse. She also told George she knew they lost Caylee after smelling the dead body after not seeing Caylee for a month. All little girls have a bare patch when their hair is pulled into a pony tail.

I wish with all my heart that that is in fact Caylee, but I don’t think she is alive. Jodi, maybe the parents of the girl don’t know that this picture of their child was in question. This is the first I have heard about it….

Sally: Chloroform is chlorine and methane……..the same chlorine one puts in the pool ……..methane (CH4) is very common and found where any organic matter is decomposing or going bad…….in the trunk was a garbage bag including a rotting pizza and I bet some dirty diapers but in any case there was certainly methane available in that trunk to interact with a wet bathing suit or even a spilled chlorine bleach bottle………my bet is the wet bathing suit……and yes Sally chloroform is present with a decomposing body but at much lower levels than was found. Also Sally, I have a daughter and have for many years helped out at dance recitals doing the girls hair and I have done more than 100 little girls hair pulled into pony tails or a bun and none of them have had displayed a bare patch when their hair was pulled up. This looks more like a poorly done hair cut and perhaps Florida has many girls with such a spot but it is due to the hair cut and not something all little girls have. By the way, even the police admitt the chloroform could have come from the wet bathing suit and decomposing garbage.

My husband & I have both said that it would be incredibly stupid for a “kidnapper” (who has remained unfound & left no “evidence” for 25 weeks) to take Caylee to a mall..in FLORIDA!! Also, if we were someplace & truly believed we say a missing child, we would call 911, and follow the people with the child to the parking lot & get a license plate number & description of the car make & model.

The way I see it is this…. Deep down Cindy knows the child is no longer with us.. She is trying her best to save Casey from murder charges…Cindy lost her grandaughter, Now she is going to lose her daughter Casey along with Lee her son who flew the coop knowing it was best to get away from all the lies. Cindy is torn apart with losses and I really Think she is sending people on a goose chases buying time is what she is doing. Cindy the way I see her is a CONTROL FREAK…. she knows how to cry and how to lie. I can see right through her.,,,,

Jodi, I never heard the police say the chloroform could have come from a bathing suit or decomposing body. Nancy Grace reported that the FBI labs air tests showed chloroform saturated the air in Casey’s car trunk. The Orlando news reporters on Nancy’s show said police believe the air was saturated from chloroform on a rag put over Caylee’s mouth. They believe she chloroformed Caylee and put her in the trunk with the rag and the chloroform killed her. The reporters also said that police recovered chloroform recipe searches on Casey’s computer indicating premeditation in this crime. If Caylee died from being chloroformed, that is first degree murder.

The whole Anthony family is very sick! Why would someone take a picture of a little girl that they thought was Caylee and not contact the police? Why didint the Anthonys travel to where the sighting was? If it was me that thought I saw Caylee, I would have notified the police immediatly and then stayed near the child and followed them closely. Just get this over with.

Anyone that states that a person would be stupid to take a kidnapped child to a mall in the same state is ignorant. No huge announcements were made regarding this child. She went missing for a month, and when it was reported, it was a local incident in Orlando vaguely covered by news stations. No Amber Alerts went out, anyone that cares about this case looks it up online, but I work in an environment where the television is on CNN and Fox News constantly all day, and I haven’t heard a single thing regarding the Caylee Anthony case since it started. I’ve heard all about it online. You people aren’t thinking from a different perspective, you are talking from your own ignorant views. Reporting to the police wouldn’t matter, it’d be a long time since they showed up. If you kidnapped a kid and took them out of the mall and noticed someone tailing you, wouldn’t you be suspicious? Of course not. Anyone that responds to that is going to say “i wuld never kidnap a child, man!” and proving my point that you don’t think outside the box. Everything I’ve heard about this case was online, and in case you dolts haven’t realized: not all websites are true. Heck, every news site I’ve seen says “Chloroform was found” but hardly ANY sites say what Sally has brought up. Police say it COULD be from a swimming pool since it was in high amounts.

Jimmy, with all due respect, perhaps you should check out all the released interviews which LE have had with George Anthony, Cindy Anthony, Lee Anthony as well as all the documentation released by LE on their initial interviews with Casey Anthony — all of these documents can be found online - since you claim you have only heard about this case via the internet. Also Jimmy since it seems you have all of the answers regarding this case - tell me why it is that Casey Anthony cannot produce enough information for a composite drawing to be done of Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez so that the general public, whom George & Cindy plead with on a daily basis to HELP find little Caylee, can be on the look out for her too. Why is it Jimmy that not one single picture of Zanny the Nanny of almost 2 years of little Caylee has ever been taken by Casey or Cindy? Why is it that ONLY Casey Anthony ever saw this Zanny woman and not anyone else in the State of Florida? And Jimmy, how comes in all those 31 days Casey Anthony never travelled to New York or Puerto Rico in search of Zanny the Nanny and little Caylee — she did have all that stolen money she could have used on travel expenses instead of booze and partying? Oh, I forgot this one other question Jimmy - why was there a search done on a computer owned by either Casey Anthony or Cindy Anthony to find out all about chloroform?

I can’t imagine that anyone who was following this case as closely as most of us (I have read every document, word for word, that has been released, listened and watched all the videos, etc. and I am guessing most of you have too.) could possibly find a way to argue that Caylee isn’t dead or that the Casey didn’t do it. Casey—man!—I am continuously astonded at the revelations of the way her mind works, stealing from grandpa, parents, faking a job for YEARS, making all that stuff up—and now—these latest documents that we are hearing about where she searched for “neck breaking” and “how to make weapons from household items”. JIMMY—sounds like Casey thinks pretty far out of the box too. BTW: I just told my husband he’s going to have to tend to our guests and cook the Thanksgiving dinner, I’m going to be busy reading as soon as someone posts these latest releases…I see another night in front of the computer for me………my poor family…..I’m addicted.

People tend to block out certain memories and change certain memorable experiences in their minds when something amazing or, on the opposite end, traumatic happened to them. It’s kind of like the fish story. First the fisherman says the fish was a foot long, then a foot and a half, then 3 feet, so on and so forth. People can fabricate memories and experiences and eventually force themselves to believe it if they tell it to themselves enough times. That is a possibility as to why Casey is denying all these things. Being away from someone can cause memories to distort as well (I’m overseas in the military and can hardly remember what my parents look like if it weren’t for pictures I have). There are a few mental disorders that has this happen. If I also recall correctly, when the claims from her stating “Zanny the Nanny” had her kid, officials said there were records of more than one woman with that same exact name. Amusingly, only one stepped up, and is attempting to sue for defamation of character or some stupid charge like that. To be honest, if you were under the SLIGHTEST assumption that your child was in Puerto Rico or any other place, would YOU, coming from a predominantly white neighborhood and upbringing, go to that area not knowing the language, asking if they’ve seen a woman or your daughter?…didn’t think so. And by the way. I’ve found myself bored and looking random things up, such as sulphuric acid, and have watched movies such as Untraceable and Zodiac when bored. Does that mean that if my parents or child (if I have one) disappears mysteriously, I’m going to be investigated because I may have killed them and did away with the body in an attempt to copy John George Haigh, or I killed them in my basement in an attempt to promote killwithme.com just like in the movie Untraceable, or be a copycat Zodiac killer? No. Just coincidence. I’m not trying to entirely defend her, I’m just saying everyone seems to think on one extreme based on personal feelings. Now I’m going to go throw these bags of trash into a nearby river and call Leonard Padilla so he can get more publicity from his “findings” by claiming it’s Caylee’s remains. Oh crap. No flowing rivers here.

Oh Jimmy I knew it was you all along despite your Anonymous name - you didn’t fool me. The fish tale story does not compare that is simply called exagerating. I’m not sure what your point is but I wish you would have answered some of the questions I asked you in my post. You are wrong that a mother who truly knows for fact who “kidnapped” her child wouldn’t travel to a country solely because she could not speak the language. A loving mommy Jimmy will go to the ends of the earth in search of her child — even to Mars to face the martians. Perhaps Casey should have made it a point to accompany her friends Amy and Ricardo to Puerto Rico as she planned weeks earlier — then she would have had company helping her to search for her precious daughter and her Nanny. Casey also mentioned New York as a place where she knew Zanny the Nanny lived at one point — Casey could have accompanied her new lover Tony to New York when he went to search for little Caylee and Zanny the Nanny. Now on the movies that you watch — well I would say that if you DID have a child and that child went missing one day and then the same day you rented those movies you mentioned then you sure as hell better be prepared for the link to be made — not a coincidence. The fact is Jimmy, and what makes it so sad, is that Casey was even in the mood to sit in front of a t.v. with her new found lover and watch movies like the ones they chose knowing full well that she DID NOT know where her precious daughter was — and these are her own words Jimmy - that the 16th June 2008 was the last time she little Caylee alive when she dropped her off at the Nanny, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. Why do so many people seem to relate so much with Casey Anthony???
- Karen
Posted 11/26/08 06:52 PM

I’m not saying I relate to Casey Anthony at all lol. A very motivated and dedicated mother would have done what you said, yes, I agree with you there. Consulting my girlfriend, she would have done the same, and to be honest, I would have too. But she complained about having a child at times, partied after the kid disappeared, is a chronic liar, and is very eager to be the carefree person she used to be. Sounds like a possible depression or stress disorder? When a person is depressed or stressed, if something close to them disappears, they would first search for it themselves in a way to not show a sign of weakness (depressed people usually don’t ask for help, I would know, I have many friends that are like this. After a week of trying to talk her out of this, one of my friends just recently attempted suicide, which was a blatant cry for help), and once they cannot find any solution, give up and try to move on in life. She really sounds like a manic depressant to me. Maybe PTSD after the birth? Who knows. None of us can truly say what is or isn’t wrong with the woman’s mind because we aren’t her, but you can’t base things off of just your heart. And wouldn’t you rent the movies BEFORE the child went missing for it to not be a coincidence? If I wanted to kill someone by, oh say, a bath in sulphuric acid, wouldn’t I watch a movie that involves it BEFORE I commit the act just to see what popular media depicts would happen? And the thing is, and I will bring this up again, people can convince themselves something didn’t happen. I am a man that likes thinking on both sides of the spectrum. I have seen and heard all theories regarding the murder side of this argument, and that she’s a ruthless, cold-blooded, cold-hearted baby killer. But again, certain things don’t add up, and it supports the other side. Why, if she was so calculating and she murdered her child and hid the body THIS WELL that it still hasn’t been found, would she leave the car in plain view for anyone to see or take? If your theory is she did this in hopes that someone would steal the car, let me ask you this. Would you,
