Grandparents Believe Mall Sighting is Caylee

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

As the holidays approach, the Anthonys still hope for their granddaughter's safe return. Could a sighting at a mall be the answer to their prayers?

It's been a tough week for the Anthonys -- scratch that, it's been a tough 25 weeks. Since July they've been searching, hoping and praying for the safe return of their beloved granddaughter, Caylee Anthony. Meanwhile, their daughter, Casey Anthony awaits trial for first-degree murder charges in a Florida jail. Then, last week the Anthonys' lawyer, Mark NeJame, resigned followed by the Orange County Sheriffs Office statement announcing they believe the three-year-old is dead and consequently will no longer follow up on any Caylee sighting.

But Dominic Casey, head of D & A Investigations, Inc., the agency working with the Anthony family believes things might be looking up. A photo sent to him via cellphone has offered the Anthonys a least a ray of hope. The picture, taken at Avenue's Mall in Jacksonville, Florida is of a little girl, with similar coloring to the missing toddler. Dominic  believes the resemblance is more than slight. Among the similarities visible in the photo he says is a little patch of thinning hair on the girls head and the way she holds her hands. Both says, Dominic, are strong indicators that would lead him to believe there is a strong possibility that it is Caylee Marie.

The Anthonys think so too, claims Dominic: "George and Cindy have looked at the picture extremely closely for every detail and for all intents and purposes, they believe it is Caylee Marie."

Who accompanied the little girl to the mall is still a mystery. The anonymous source that snapped the photo did not speak to the toddler. Dominic Casey explains it's not uncommon for people to keep their distance when reporting a missing child. "At first people are in shock. They are afraid to approach for fear that if they do, the people with the child will be scared off." Whether the little girl is indeed Caylee  -- no one has come forward to identify the girl in the photo.

And through it all, life goes on for the Anthony family, including celebrating Thanksgiving. According to a spokesman from the Orange Country Jail, Casey Anthony will celebrate the holiday by eating her Thanksgiving meal, as she does all her meals, alone in her jail cell.

For her parents, Cindy and George, Dominic reports it's extremely difficult for the couple to feel in a festive mood, but friends and family have encouraged them to have a Thanksgiving at their Orlando home. At the table, says Dominic Casey, "there will be two extra plates, one for Caylee and another for Casey."

If that is a real picture of someone else’s child and it was taken recently, the family is right in not coming forward. Why do parents of all three year old girls who have brown hair and brown eyes have to justify that their daughter is their birth daughter? People should not be allowed to take pictures of other people’s children and release them to the press or Internet and then expect them to come forward and justify that is their child and not Caylee. NBC Today blocked out the face of the little girl in the picture when they showed it as Cindy said the picture was of Caylee. Yet, Cindy’s body language showed me she was lying. Her face, eyes and voice did not indicate hope and excitement that Caylee is alive. She is bitter and negative. If Cindy really believed her granddaughter was in a mall near her, she would be there looking for her, not on TV trying to poison the jury pool who will find her daughter guilty. Cindy knows Caylee is decomposing somewhere where Casey put her. The Anthonys do not have a right to jeopardize the kidnapping of other people’s children just because their sociopath daughter killed their granddaughter, hid the body and they feel they have to cover up for her.

Yes Sally. How dare they take pictures of children they see as a missing child and release them to media sources in the hopes that the little girl is still alive and someone else saw the child or someone came forward to say it wasn’t Caylee so that the search continues. Those scoundrels >:[ And I’m sorry, but jeopardize the kidnapping of other people’s children? I’m not going to even type after this sentence ends because of how ridiculous your comment sounds. Okay, I lied. LOL

Jimmy, George and Cindy are not searching for Caylee because they know she is dead. The Anthonys know what their granddaughter looks like. I have grandchildren and I could tell by looking at a picture if that was my grandchild. Cindy knows that is not Caylee. She doesn’t need to release a picture to the media and have a family say that is their child. These sightings are a scam. If Cindy believed Caylee was alive and in that Jacksonville mall, she’d be camped out at the mall looking for her granddaughter, not on TV claiming Casey is innocent. With these phony sightings, Cindy is just trying to raise reasonable doubt that Caylee is alive in hopes of getting Casey off. Everyone but you seems to know this.

That’s stupid. This is one reported picture out of hundreds, if not, thousands of claims that people saw Caylee and sent in pictures or just stating they saw the girl. If Cindy believed Caylee was alive and at any of these places and she did this, she’d more than likely ask for someone to step forward and say “that was my child, sorry for your loss” and move on. Only you and a handful of people seem to be that stupid to think that someone is going to camp out at the freaking mall that the girl was sighted in. And if it by random chance was the girl, (assuming she isn’t dead) and you kidnapped her, after seeing that picture released to the press, would you take the child to the same mall knowing that people now know the possible location of her whereabouts? No? Thought so. Yeah. She’s going to camp out at EVERY SINGLE PLACE that is reported in. You ever try being in 36 places at once? You haven’t? OH. IT’S A BLAST, SALLY!!! If you people are going to post “hypothetical questions” like “well if that was her child, why isn’t she there herself?” why don’t you think with your brain, and not your foot (or some other area between your lower back and your hamstring) before posting? It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

and one more thing. What is it with you people declaring what these people think or know like you are them? “Cindy knows that is not Caylee.” or “If Cindy believed Caylee was alive and in that Jacksonville mall, she’d be camped out at the mall looking for her granddaughter, not on TV claiming Casey is innocent.” or even “Casey knos wat she did, shes gona burn in hell n her familee is lying aboot it they r all wrong n shood go 2 jayl 4 the cryme they comitted THEY are All GUILTEE!!1!111!1!!” Embarrassing way of typing. But I’ve seen something like this. You people aren’t God and you aren’t the Anthonys, so you have no say in what happened or what didn’t happen unless you saw it or were there. You can’t say “she should be doing to prove she cares for this child” who the HELL do you think you are? If I said you should cheat on your spouse to have a long-lasting marriage, does that make me right because I believe a story that some comedian told? No. That’s wrong, and so is thinking that your way is the only right way. So everyone but me doesn’t seem to know this. Everyone but me seems to have the same narrow-minded jump-on-the-bandwagon mentality that because you believe it to be true, anyone that disagrees with you is wrong. Making you a moron in my eyes.

An FBI officer said on the Nancy Grace show tonight that he reviewed the DNA hair evidence they found in Casey’s car trunk and Caylee is dead and has been since June 16. So none of those sightings were Caylee. He said the sightings are just a diversion. Nancy Grace said she didn’t believe the Anthony’s PI firm even believed the girl in the Jacksonville mall was Caylee because they said they had the kidnappers license plates but wouldn’t release them. She said if someone had one of her twins and she had the license plate tags, she’d scream it to the police. It’s all a scam. They don’t have hope. They are just scamming people who will believe them.

Jimmy, First I’d like to start by saying that you will probably not like my opinion so you might not want to read on. I usually refrain from taking sides in a blog site, however, today I’m making an exception. After reading your comments and Sally’s comments I have to say that I totally agree with everything that Sally said about Cindy and the phony Caylee sightings. I also believe that Cindy and George are trying to create diversion in order to strengthen their daughter’s weak defense. They are using Caylee sightings in an attempt to win freedom for the person who so cruelly ended Caylee’s life. Sadly, the decomposition in the trunk of Casey’s car was Caylee so there is no chance of a Caylee sighting. The evidence speaks for itself. I find Sally’s thinking, in this case, logical as she follows evidence and facts, while you seem to be ruled by your emotions. Sally remained respectful and stayed on the subject of the article while you attacked her by spewing your venom in a very distasteful manner. Didn’t anyone ever tell you that name calling is childish? With all the pent-up anger you display, perhaps you are someone from the Anthony camp or maybe you are just easily lead to believe the unbelievable.

Thank you In My Opinion for adding a voice of reason to this discussion. I would just like to say to Jimmy that maybe you would learn something if you’d open your mind and listen to what others have to say instead of keeping it closed and repeating your same old argument that the Anthonys have a right to hope Caylee is alive. I believe Cindy and George both lost hope the night they smelled their granddaughter’s dead body in that car trunk. I’m saying they don’t have the right to ruin other people’s lives by acusing every parent with a three year old brown eyed brown haired girl of kidnapping their granddaughter just to cast reasonable doubt so a jury will not find their daughter guilty of murder. All I’m asking is that you respect that other people have rights to. We all have a right to our opinion without being ridiculed and called stupid, morons, idiots, etc.

I’m ruled by my emotions? I’m not taking any sides to the argument at all, I’m just denouncing both sides of the argument, originally with facts and ideal comparisons. But now we’ve stemmed down to the actual facts and not the accusations that originally brought me to this blog site by people saying that “those who believe Caylee is alive are stupid and should stop hoping and praying that an innocent child is alive”. If you had read a single damn word I’ve said in these last 6 pages, I’ve NEVER taken a side to the argument. I’m here for the sake of arguing, and I began my argument against people who denounced people’s beliefs that although the child is proven dead without a body, they hope it’s a mistake and she is still living amongst us. If you people would open your mind and stop thinking laughably, you would have known why I post on this forum. In fact, I’ve actually stated my side of the story from the point of view that Caylee is dead and how she may have died and the reasoning behind it. I’ve NEVER said “you people are all wrong. She’s not dead. She’s alive.” All I’ve stated is my strong dislike towards people (that I believe you two fall under) that declare someone who hopes the child is alive is wrong, and they’re stupid, when in reality, they’re being hopeful in a desperate situation. It’s like being trapped on a desert island without any way off, hundreds of miles away from civilization with no communication available. Is it wrong to hope and pray someone comes along to rescue you? Or will you accept defeat and wallow in your own sorrow wondering when God is going to strike you with lightning so it will all be over? You people don’t have the right to call a hopeful person stupid, just like you are saying I don’t have the right to call you all morons. If you don’t see what I mean, take a look around this forum and other forums. Someone says “Oh I hope this child is still alive” and someone replies with “Stop being so stupid. She’s dead. Live with it and pray Casey opens her mouth”. Yeah. That’s optimistic. That doesn’t make intelligent people hate narrow-minded, pessimistic human beings at all. Wake up. I never stated whether I believe she’s alive

Oh, and IMO? Thanks for totally taking sides today after reading just mine and Sally’s comments. Thanks for showing your naïvety by commenting on…what…3 of my posts, without knowing any of the background, then saying I’m talking through emotions, possibly just skimming over my previous comments about why I’m arguing, and my conversations with Karen. Just…wow. No words can express how amazingly ignorant you seem right now.

Oops. Here’s the continuation of my post that got cut off…………..I never stated whether I believe she’s alive or dead. I never agreed totally with one side or the other. I’m arguing for the sake of arguing. Learn to read.

The Anthonys believe this is Caylee because of the balding spot on the side of her head, but if you look at the little girl in the backround she has the same balding spot. Evidentially, most little girls do!!??

I’m with you 110% Sandy. Who cares what other people think, like that even matters! Certainly the only things that matter to these grandparents are Caylee and Casey, God love ‘em for that. If only more grandparents had the love, loyalty , dedication, tenacity, and strength of these two, imagine what a better world it would be.

Ear lobes? If Caylee has free/attached ear lobes and this little girl doesn’t, that’s a 100% sure indication that it is NOT her.

Anybody ever think maybe it is a picture of caylee just a few months before she came up missing? How easy is it too have someone send a picture they snapped of her months ago to the families private investigator. I just think it’s a little fishy that the person didn’t also try to take a picture of the kidnapper. And why would you call crimeline ans sit on hold for 20 mins? I would call my local police if i saw a child that looked like a misssing one. or even 911 but i wouldn’t sit on hold for 20mins with crimeline.

And it’s also not hard to take a picture of a picture.

We all know now Caylee was not in an Orlando Mall on Nov. 13. Her skull and other bones were found in a black plastic bag in a wooded area back of the Anthony home Thursday. Although we are all saddened that the beautiful toddler is dead, Caylee Anthony will at least be laid to rest and it will give closure to a nation who wondered what had happened to her. Now Cindy and George hopefully will stay off the TV and mourn their granddaughter and plan her funeral and let the prosecutor and defense move ahead to try their daughter for first degree murder. Now the state has a body they may be able to answer some questions on how and when Caylee died.

Maybe she mentioned something to the tune of “i wish she wasnt born”, or maybe witnessed what people would call child abuse but didnt want the risk of there grand going through C.P.S.(child protective services). But there gut knows she that she probably caused this tragedy just think they lost a grandchild, and will lose a child behind all this how would you feel if you were casey’s parents when you look in the mirror ” what kind of parents were we they may ask.
