Idol Contestant Found Dead Near Paula's Home

She was an alleged stalker of the "American Idol" judge.

The 30-year-old was found sometime after 6PM on Tuesday after the Los Angeles Police Department received a tip from a neighboring agency, according to LAPD spokesperson Officer Karen Smith.
Paula Goodspeed appeared on "American Idol" in 2006, reports TMZ.
During her audition, she said she's an artist and the first pic she ever
drew was of Paula Abdul. "Idol" produced a 3 minute and 40 second
featurette on Goodspeed and her passion for Paula. She did not make the
cut, after Ryan Seacrest proclaimed, "And the love affair is over."
Paula Goodspeed talked about her audition on her MySpace blog: "It's very hard reading such awful things being written about yourself.....or hearing things being said..... not like a lot of people would understand what it's like having so many haters, just because I made the mistake of trying out for a singing competition before I was ~even~ ready vocally, emotionally and physically. I have to believe there is ~something good about me..."
Last night, the parents of Paula Goodspeed were frantically searching for her and reportedly believed their daughter was nearby Abdul's home as she was reportedly "a big fan" of the "Idol" judge, Officer Smith said. "Our Van Nuys division did receive a call from the Ventura County's Sheriff. A woman's parents reported her missing and they thought that she may be at Paula Abdul's house," Smith told Access Hollywood.
When authorities arrived, the unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are awaiting a coroner's report to verify the cause of death, but they suspect it may be a drug overdose. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Paula Goodspeed, who died of a possible drug overdose/suicide last night, overdosed in the exact same area around one year ago. Sources say Goodspeed suffered from "extreme mental illness" that spun out of control in the last two years.
Abdul was reportedly taping an episode of "Idol" when the incident occurred. She has issued the following statement: "I am deeply shocked and saddened by what transpired yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to her family."

This is sad, she was a very mentally ill person. “anon” above has obviously never had the sadness of knowing a person with psychiatric problems. Lucky you, but no need to be heartless.
Did you get the chance to have a peek at Paula Goodspeed’s drawings? They showed them on TV. She was a fine artist. Of course something was wrong with her or she wouldn’t have stalked anybody. How sad she could not celebrate herself and her own unique artistic talent.
