In an effort to win November sweeps show us all that "Green is Universal," "Today" launched their "Ends of the Earth" series last week. And to prove global warming is alive and well, Ann Curry and her crew ventured up to the peak of Tanzania's Mt. Kilimanjaro.
See Ann Curry's journal here.
But before they could get there, she and the crew suffered from serious pain and potentially deadly health concerns -- some say by ignoring the rules of safe climbing for the sake of good TV.
In fact, midway through the week, Curry told Matt Lauer that the crew was struggling and in a lot of pain due to the altitude saying, ""Basically, your brain is swelling; it's hitting up against your skull and it hurts. If it swells too much, you get disoriented and have trouble thinking."
Was NBC irresponsible for sending her there? Did Curry disregard her own kids by putting herself at risk to get a story? Comment below.

That’s crazy… no matter what, safety is #1 and I can’t believe that a big network like that would risk this! what a shame. People are not disposable!

What’s a little brain swelling??? It sounds like this was irresponsible planning. Perhaps they, being inexperienced climbers that they are, should have made the easier climb…just a thought…

Believe me, Ann CHOSE to do what she did. She wanted ratings and attention. And that’s what she got! Experienced climbers struggle with that climb and she should be lauded for her bravery and resilience. just sayin’
