Bye bye Dr. Hahn!

Brooke Smith has been written out of the popular drama "Grey's Anatomy."

Smith said that "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes "just suddenly told me that they couldn't write for my character anymore. It was the last thing I expected."

Her character, Dr. Erica Hahn, revealed that she was a lesbian on last week's episode and began a relationship with one of the other female doctors on the show.

"Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian," Rhimes said. "Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke's character would sustain in the long run."
