How to dress your very best for that very important interview.

Jobs are hard to come by these days. The fashion editors at Essence.com tell us that one way to improve the odds of actually getting that job is to carefully choose what you wear for the interview. This can be tricky, because depending on the job you are applying for, you have to dress appropriately for that position. A general rule? Keep it simple and classy: no low cut tops, shorts, jeans, short skirts please! Always go a bit more conservative than you might like. Check out more expert tips below.

Expert Tips:

The Buttoned-Up Job: You can't go wrong with a simple black suit. Add a colored blouse underneath to give it some personality and keep the accessories simple.

For the Business Casual Job: Wear a suit with a bit of attitude, either one with color or with a belt.

For the Not-A-Suit Job: If you're interviewing for a creative job, stay away from the "suit look." Instead, wear a dress (not too short) or wide-leg pants with a bold top.
