Announcing Our Knorr Contest Finalists!

sign up for the momlogic newsletter Tweet This

Time is always an issue, especially when it comes to mealtime! Sure, we wish that we had hours and hours to spend in the kitchen, creating masterpiece meals, but we don't. The solution: take a store-bought packaged side dish and add a protein like beef or chicken and veggies and -- voila! You've got yourself an all-in-one meal!

We asked our readers to submit their favorite all-in-one family recipe using any one of the Knorr Pasta Sides and Rice Sides and received hundreds of amazing submissions! Our staff narrowed down the choices to our TOP THREE FINALISTS based on the following criteria: 40% creativity using one of the Knorr sides, 40% on degree of difficulty and time to prepare and cook and 20% on taste.

Now it's up to YOU to decide! Check out the contestants and their recipes  and VOTE BELOW on which one is your favorite! The winner will be announced on our website December 9th and will receive a one-year supply of all Knorr Pasta Sides and Rice Sides- and an amazing Wolfgang Puck Knife Set! Remember, comments don't count so be sure to click below to VOTE!

"I would love to win this contest because I love to pamper my wife; I look forward to coming home to her to have her prepared dinner as often as I can so she can relax. "Knorr" convenience meals make it easier for me to spoil her at least a couple nights of the week."

"I want to win because being a busy mom means being creative and fast about what to make for dinner. I take my son to work with me which is a bit of a task and make him 3 meals a day which is why winning the Knorr sides would really come in handy!"

1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
1/2 C. Onions, chopped
1 - 1.25 oz. Pkg. Taco Seasoning
1 - 15.5-16 -oz. Can Sloppy Joe Sauce
1 Pkg. Knorr Fiesta Sides Mexican Rice
1 C. Water

1 1/2 C. Shredded Four-Cheese Mexican Blend
1 1/4 C. Coarsely Crushed Tortilla Chips

Heat a large non-stick skillet or saute pan. Brown ground beef and onions until onions are tender, about 5 minutes; drain off excess grease. Sprinkle taco seasoning over beef mixture and mix in sloppy joe sauce. Stir in rice, water and sliced black olives. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and cook for about 7 minutes until rice is tender. Sprinkle shredded cheese over top; cover and continue to cook, for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips over top. Garnish with dollops of sour cream and green onions sprinkled on top, if desired. Makes 4 Servings.

1 5.6 oz package KNORR Fiesta side Spanish Rice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon paprika (I prefer "smoked" paprika, read the label on the bottle)
2 teaspoon dried oregano
to taste: salt and ground black pepper
2 lbs skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 2 inch pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large yellow , white or red onion chopped (1/4 " dice)

1. Cook Knorr Fiesta Side Spanish Rice according to package directions.
The rice will be cooked and ready to serve in no more than 10 minutes. When cooked, set aside and keep warm

2. While the rice cooks: In a medium bowl , mix together 2 tablespoons olive oil paprika, oregano, and salt
and pepper. Stir in chicken pieces to coat. Cover and refrigerate.

3. Meanwhile heat 2 tablespoons olive oil a separate skillet over medium heat . Stir in marinated chicken and onion..
Cook 5 minutes. Stir in bell pepper and sausage; cook 5 minutes. Stir in shrimp ; cook, turning the shrimp , until both sides are pink.
Add the diced tomatoes.. Adjust seasoning, if desired.

4. spread warm rice mixture onto a serving tray/dish or paella pan. Top with meat and seafood mixture. Garnish with chopped cilantro
or parsley.

1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 bag of shredded Italian blend cheese
Optional- garlic, onions, peppers

1. Follow directions and make the cheesy cheddar knorr pasta side

2. Cook ground beef up (sometimes I add onion, peppers and garlic!)

3. Lightly Grease casserole dish and put half of prepared cheesy cheddar knorr side in bottom, next add a layer of half of the cooked meat, next layer on some of the sauce, next layer on some of the shredded cheese and repeat all layers!

4. Bake in oven about 10-15 minutes or until cheese is all melted!

5. Enjoy!
