Have you noticed? No, not her gorgeous dresses, Michelle Obama's BUTT.
Forgive us, but we have to pay some respect to a woman with a real bod and a real booty -- the smart, the beautiful, the impeccably dressed Michelle Obama.
Now, here's a woman we can RELATE to -- because we are sure, she has to consider what is and what is not going to emphasize that booty too much, but just enough (an issue many of us deal with with our butts, our boobs, our thighs etc.) to keep it interesting.
Erin Aubry Kaplan with Salon gives it to us from a black woman's perspective: "What really thrills me, what really feels liberating in a very personal way, is the official new prominence of Michelle Obama. Barack's better half not only has stature but is statuesque. She has corruscating intelligence, beauty, style and -- drumroll, please -- a butt." Kaplan sees Michelle Obama's butt as the a signifier of her blackness, and it's making her feel better about her own backside. We get it: when we see a celebrity looking like an actual human, we feel better about ourselves too.
Michelle, here's to change: in the country, the White House and in the representation of women.
