Did You Like Michelle Obama's Dress?

Wednesday, November 5, 2008
filed under: fashion logic

Though the mom-in-chief has made some excellent fashion choices lately, we weren't digging last night's dress.

As the Obama family took the stage, it was undoubtedly one of most significant moments in our history. Wasn't it cute that the entire family matched? Barack in a red tie, their daughters in black and red dresses and Michelle in her little Narciso Rodriguez number.

Speaking of that dress ... What did you think?

You have a right to wear what you want, this is a free country and that is your right Michelle. Yes you can..wear whatever the hell you feel like wearing. Who cares what people think.

I was disappointed in her choice, but I think she will do better in the future. She is a lovely woman and needs to stand tall, not slump, as if to camoflauge her height.

I kept being reminded of a Teletubby when I looked at it!

Michelle usually looks smashing but this dress made her look heavier. I have heard of the designer. This is not the best of the collection. I do look forward to seeing her on inauguration day/night. I bet she’ll look fabulous.

Jackie Kennedy wore beautiful clothes. Diana, Princess of Wales wore beautiful clothes. Michelle Obama has no class and dresses like someone from the hood.

I hated the dress and coat. Not a sylish look at all, the color was wrong for winter in Washington. It was actually way to blingy for day wear, and The thing looked like something my Grandmother used to make out of Brocaded fabric from Joannes Fabrics, for church or a wedding. WAY TOO OLD for Michelle. We do need to remember that this was not Michelle’s day, it was Barak’s and he did look amazing. Thank goodness Michelle didn’t make him wear a yellow scarf. The kids looked great, wish Michelle had dressed herself more youthfully, cause she is a pretty lady. Sorry, Michelle, you needed a stylist for this one.

Michelle obamas yellow dress today was inappropriate and made her look like a big bumble bee. no one else had green/yellow on and looked more like evening attire than a swear in for our first lady, no class

I have yet seen her wear a dress that wasn’t ugly. No offense, but the white one she wore on inaugural was awful.

I liked the dress.. Everyone has diss the first lady. She will get better at it. Remember what Hillary wore? Considering what Hillary wore. Michelle looked fantastic and I am a GOP’er. By the way Obama spent more money on getting elected than any other president. So the GOP could not afford to buy her a new dress

In my opinion both of the choices for the day were beyond dreadful. The day dress was sooooo bad it was beyond discription….color, wayyyy to much texture, “bling”? (PLLLLEASE), the stringy little bow thing. The evening dress was basically an old bedspread circa 1950. Tooo heavy, the train was obviously a constant problem. Just bad choices. Come on she’s the First Lady….get with the program. Get some professional help for heavnes sake. The part that really threw me was not one network type, or stylist, had the courage to call it, for what it was. Bad chocies.
