Would you renew yours?

In October, both J Lo and Soleil Moon Frye renewed their wedding vows. Mel B will reportedly renew her vows in Egypt in the next week. But is having a wedding do-over a good idea or a waste of time?

We asked moms to weigh in:

• "I would love to do it for a future anniversary -- maybe ten years. I think it's just a nice way to say, 'Hey, I'd choose you again.' Sometimes we need to know that after many years and a few kids." -- Jackie

• "My husband and I renewed our vows ten years ago for our ten-year anniversary. We got to do everything right that we did wrong the first time ... better dress, (hated the one I had made in Hawaii) a great bouquet (forgot one the first time cuz I wore a lei), an actual wedding cake (luau didn't offer one), and all our friends who couldn't make the trek to the islands for the vows. The best part of all, my daughters -- who were then 3 and 5 -- got to be a part of the ceremony -- and they are still my favorite pictures of all time." -- Jill

• "My 8th wedding anniversary is on Monday and I will definitely renew my vows at 10 years. I want the small wedding I always wanted -- just Marv and I and a few close friends and family, NOT 600 people like the first one!" -- Jennifer

• "If my husband wanted to do it, I would do it. But other than that I would never do it because I am very shy and I would hate to have all that attention focused on me." -- Melissa

• "My mom died a little over a year after I got married, and I had moved out of state to take care of her. So after she passed, my husband and I went to Vegas and renewed our vows. Since we had been separated so long during my mom's illness, this was a fresh start to our marriage, and a new beginning. I like to think my mom was watching down on us that day!"
-- Julie

• "I would like to renew my vows. Weddings are one of those things that most people want do-overs for. If people say they don't -- they're lucky or lying." -- Annie

Would you renew yours?

I would do it in a heartbeat. I was a little unsure (well, a lot unsure) the first time around - I’m VERY independent. Now, after almost 18 years, I’m SURE I’d marry him again and again. I’m so blessed. Darlene

My husband I are considering it for a larger anniversary. I think renewing your vows so soon after being married is just a little strange. We celebrated 10 years last year and have decided to renew our vows at our 25th wedding anniversary. I think it’s more appropriate to wait - I think renewing vows after a couple of years is not as meaningful.

Tomorrow is my 10 year wedding anniversary, I wanted to renew our vows but my husband is not so much interested in that. Personally I don’t think he will even give me a card. Makes me wonder why I even wanted to renew the vows at at. 10 years is supposed to mean bend and not break. I think my heart is breaking
