Peru Offers Obamas a Dog

Ever since President-elect Barack Obama announced last Tuesday night he would be bringing a puppy to the White House, the country has been suggesting the perfect breed of dog for the family. Now the rest of the world is weighing in to help find the First Pooch.

Michelle and Barack Obama are looking for a hypoallergenic dog, because daughter Malia has allergies. The Associated Press reports that the country of Peru is offering to give the Obamas a four-month-old Peruvian Hairless Dog -- Peru's national breed -- named Machu Picchu.

The Friends of the Peruvian Hairless Dog Association's President Claudia Galvez says, "My family also has suffered from not being able to have a pet because my son and I are asthmatic, so we thought it would be ideal for him (Obama) to have a dog like ours." Galvez adds that this breed is flealess and often odorless.

AWW WHAT A CUTE DOG….SO CUTE HE’S UGLY…AND WHAT A PERFECT SOLUTION FOR THEIR ALLERGY SITUATION….WHICHEVER DOG THEY PICK I HOPE THEY REMEMBER ALL THE NICE DOGS AVAILABLE AT THE POUND…GOOD DOGS WITH PERSONALITIES WHO NEED A GOOD HOME…PLEASE HAVE YOUR PETS SPAYED OR NEUTERED!!!

Actually it is not that bad looking . I prefer the looks of this dog over say, a chinese crested or a mexican hairless. Those look really funky with the tufts of hair. At least this one is pretty consistently hairless…looks better IMO.

I have to say I’m one who like fur on dogs. But this dog is going on me. He’s so ugly that he’s like of cute.
