Results of Top Props

Here are the results of the most controversial propositions and elections in the country.

• Prop K, which would have barred local authorities from investigating, arresting or prosecuting anyone for selling sex, was not passed in San Francisco.
• Arkansas voters passed Initiative Act 1 with 57% of the vote yesterday. The measure bans unmarried couples in that state from adopting or foster parenting. It doesn't affect single parents' ability to adopt.
• Prop 8, which outlaws gay marriage in California, passed by a narrow margin. As the vote counting continued, opponents of Prop. 8 filed a lawsuit directly with the state Supreme Court -- whose May 15 ruling legalized same-sex marriage -- asking the justices to overturn the measure. Florida and Arizona passed similar measures.
• Al Franken was defeated in Minnesota by 571 votes. He is demanding a recount.
• Michigan legalized medical marijuana.
• In Colorado and South Dakota, voters rejected ballot measures that would have led to new abortion bans.
What do you think of these election results?
That’s what democracy and voting is all about. The choice of THE PEOPLE, not the arrogant elitists. You may not agree, but you always have the option to change the law, or move to a state or country that sees things your way.
An fascinating dialogue is worth comment. I believe that it’s best to write more on this matter, it won’t be a taboo topic but usually individuals are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
