Supernanny to Parents: Get a Divorce!

Guest blogger Liesl Bradner: "Supernanny" Jo Frost has come to the rescue of hundreds of weary parents in desperate need of help disciplining their rambunctious kids and restoring order to their homes. It's safe watching others problems from the privacy of our living room but would you ever open your home to 24-hour cameras, revealing your parenting and marital problems? One family did -- and it changed them forever.

Recently Nanny Jo was confronted with one of the biggest challenges to date when a couple split up for the first time on the show. Sara Manley and her husband John had been separated for nearly six months when the kids, Max, 7 and Claire, 4 started acting up. John had his own place but would visit for dinner and to help with bedtime then leave again until the next day.

This groundbreaking episode was not an easy task for anyone involved and took a lot of courage from the Manley Family. "It was really about the kids," Sara tells Momlogic. "We had to put them first. I'd do it again."

Would you be able open your home and life to the Supernanny?

I felt really sorry for the wife and the kids in this family. The father was your typical narcissistic “me, myself and I” character. What was most loathesome was his refusal to even try to work on the marriage, not even for his kids’ sakes.

Of course, he didn’t say the real reason he just couldn’t - er, wouldn’t — come back to his family, but I think it was fairly obvious.
