Momlogic joins Paula Deen on a mission of giving back.
Ask Paula what she's most thankful for, and she'll just about shout it from the rooftops, "Family and friends, freedom and food. That's four f's now, isn't it?" Oh yes it is, Paula!
Now since she is so very grateful for all of the blessings in her life -- and there are many -- Paula thought the best way to show her gratitude was so spread a little holiday cheer with the men and women of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. "I was planning on being here and giving 150% of myself, but you know what? I will have gotten back more than I gave."
After spending the day chatting with the troops and cheering up injured soldiers in the hospital, Paula took some time to dish about Thanksgiving Traditions in the Deen household. "Both of our restaurants will be open but I'm gonna have the privilege of cooking for the family."
And you can bet the table will be filled with all of Paula's favorites. But don't look for anything fancy-shamancy here -- Paula insists this is a time for tradition and tried and true favorites.
"Thanksgiving is one of those times I don't pull out anything new. I stick with my ham, I stick with my turkey, my dressing."
But we just had to ask if everyone's "everyone chef" had a favorite dish. "You know it's hard to pin me down." Paula laughed, "I'll eat anything that don't eat me first."
Happy Thanksgiving from Paula and all of us here at Momlogic!
