Rain May Cause Autism

New research suggests moms who live in rainy climates may have autistic kids.
Kids who live in areas that get a lot of rain may have a 30% higher risk of developing autism, according to a study published in the November issue of the Archives of Pediatrics; Adolescent Medicine.
How could the weather affect autism? Here are some triggers.
Vitamin D deficiency: There's already research that vitamin D deficiency in young children causes problems. So when kids aren't outside as much (due to rainy days), they don't get enough of this vitamin.
Too much television: According to lead researchers, early childhood television viewing causes various cognitive problems like disrupted sleep and behavior issues.
Exposure to toxic chemicals: Emissions from manufacturing industries, power plants, and domestic waste incineration are distributed on land by rain to be absorbed by plants and animals.
And although there is debate about whether autism is caused by genetics alone or genetics and the environment, experts say their findings are "inconsistent with it being just genetic."
Obviously, the authors of this article have neve seen an autistic kid. The research was done on medical files like so many other so-called research. Basically, the observation of the parents is not good although among these parents are scientist and researchers also. According to these so-called Autism Experts and researchers, autism was caused by insensitive moms (Frigidaire Moms), then the story changed to genetics (nobody’s fault however there is no instance of a genetic epidemic), then to the age of parents (not politically correct) , then to disfunctional parents (still not politically correct), and now finally autism is caused by an act of god - RAIN- (nobody can complain now!!!). My theory is that these so-called researchers saw only the “selected files” given to them by the pharmaceutical industry and their lapdogs and the movie “Rain Man” (the closest view they have ever had of an autistic kid)and that is how they “discovered” that RAIN causes Autism.

Who are the experts you’re quoting? The “experts” who conducted the published study you referenced?
The pacific NW has a lot of mercury, some of which could have been brought ‘down’ from the airstreams, by rainfall. I don’t know… it’s an interesting study but I do agree that it’s not genetics alone—it is genetics plus an environmental trigger. The Pacific NW also has extremely high rates of MS and I think ALS as well. SOMETHING is going on and it can’t all be “genetic”…
This “study” was debunked a few years ago. Why is it still being passed around like news?

This is perfect that people are able to take the loan and that opens completely new opportunities.

New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the country, something like 1 in 96 kids. But it’s not especially rainy here — certainly not on a par with Oregon or Washington or Hawaii. So what gives?
